My girlfriend and I had been trying to find a good activity to do together when we decided we both liked inline skating.

The only problem was, she was quite a bit slower than I was on her cheap 20$ skates. That's when I decided to look for something faster for her!

Hours of research later, I found myself liking the K2 brand more and more.

I purchased the skates for her as a birthday present, and we went to try them out.

She went FAST. Much faster than I had anticipated. And here's where function review comes.

***(LOOKS)
First, the look of the skate is awesome! It has a very professional appeal to it, but not too pro to be fun!

***(STOPPING)
I wasn't happy with the fact that the rear break is nearly impossible to use (especially at first) on these skates. This seems to be due to the lack of ankle support the boot has.

Spin stopping is also nearly impossible at first due to the very large wheels. Also, being so fast makes both spin and rear break stopping much harder.

Due to the place we skate having car crossings, not being able to stop is dangerous.

***(The way it fits)
At first, we both thought the boot was a little big on her, which may still be the case, but after some time we figured out that ankle strength is more of the issue. The ankle support on the boot of the skate is made kind of low, which means you will have a wobble to your ankle while skating until your ankle strength increases. This seemed to me to be a bit dangerous as well, as it appears to leave the skater vulnerable to falling or cock-eyeing an ankle. Neither happened to her (thank god) but I feel this is important for a buyer to know.

Good skates for the money. I had read many reviews on how fast they are, and really, I didn't notice much of a difference from my old skates. The toughest thing about this new pair was figuring out how to put them on. They have changed the boot clips in a way that had me stumped for a good long time!

My previous skates were K2s, as well, and they lasted fifteen years. This boot is my regular shoe-size, and it fits fine. I would not go a size smaller, as some recommend.

My oldest daughter can cruise on these far faster than I can while trying to play catch up. She isn't even trying!!! The 100mm wheels make this skate fast, although she did say it has taken a little getting use to; not bad for a 12yo. I'd reccommend these to anyone who has experience with inlines already, not so sure they'd be a good skate to learn on though. Don'e fret about them not being this years model, nto much has changed and the real fact is they're just like cars, they change modest things to keep it looking new but it is still the same.

I bought these for my Fiancee when I bought myself a new pair. She was worried that as she is a self described "mid level skater" these blades would be too aggressive for her.

She found that the fit, the support and the design was supportive enough for her when she began using them. Now, a few months later, she's enjoying them even more as they keep up with her and how she's grown in skill and ability.
