After only 8 miles, the front wheel is worn almost completely at a flat-angle and the rear wheel is severely eroded.

Good product, though the wheels seem like they're wearing fairly quickly.

I recently dropped a lot of weight and thought I'd get back into skating to keep it off. After I dug out my ancient rollerblades I saw that I'd done a good job of wearing off the edges of the wheels, and I wasn't sure how a 7 year hiatus would affect the bearings. After checking the wheel sizing these were a good general purpose replacement size for your garden variety adult rollerblades. The abec-5 bearings are better than the cheap ones in the cheap skates, but not as slick as the abec-9's, but I'm just an old guy skating on asphalt, so I dont really need anything too fancy!

Break out the wheels, use the included pair of allen wrenches, one on each side of each wheel, to unscrew the nut from the bolt. Pull out the old wheel, orient the new wheel to suit you and reinsert the bolts and retighten with the wrenches. Tighten them snugly but if the wheel is being restricted (spin it as you tighten) then you've got them too tight. You'll feel a little tugging when you get close to the end of snugging them, like you're going over bumps. Keep going until you feel that. Check all four wheels for free spin and you're good to go. You can use a power screwdriver or other tool to remove the old wheels and bearings, but don't do that on the install as you may overtighten the wheel and damage the bearing.

These were also about the same hardness as my original 12 year old rollerblade wheels were, so they give about the same feel. Softer wheels give you a softer ride and turns, harder wheels give a hard ride but turn quicker and last longer. So soft wheels on wood floors/rinks, medium for recreational skating and hard wheels for street hockey players.

The mm size (72mm in this case) is the diameter of the wheel.

The K2 wheels are slick and appear to be top quality. I couldn't find a harder material version to fit my inline skates, but these were advertised as good for outdoors so I purchased them anyways.

Unless you're rollerblading on newly paved streets or sidewalks these are likely to get torn to pieces in under a month of daily skating. If you have a good path or are using them indoors then I'm sure the product is top notch. I knocked off two stars due to the misleading notion that they can handle rugged streets or sidewalks by claiming they are good for outdoor conditions.

I bought these to replace the old wheels for my K2 inline skates. The wheels come complete with the bearings and are very easy to install. The speed and manoeuvrability appears to be even better than I expected, a real improvement over the old set of wheels. I also should mention prompt delivery, which is always nice. Overall experience is very satisfactory.

These K2 78mm/80a inline skate wheels provide a comfortable ride and have great grip but are wearing shockingly quickly in outdoor street use. After only 8 miles, the front wheel is worn almost completely at a flat-angle and the rear wheel is severely eroded. Admittedly, I'm using them in more of a fitness environment, I am 6'-2", and I do skate hard up hills. Still, I didn't expect that these would wear so much faster than the 78a wheels that they were intended to replace. So believe the product description and use these for outdoor use only if you're a light-weight recreational skater. For me, I'm searching for a reasonably priced set of 84a wheels.

My old skate wheels on my K2 blades finally got wore down enough for me to need replacements. Well, to my unfortunate discovery when going to a local sports shop, I found out that 8 replacement wheels(without bearings) would run me about $65. I was shocked, considering my skates only cost about that much originally. So I left the store and proceeded with my online hunt. I didn't really trust purchasing other non-brand or generic wheels becuase I wouldn't know what I was getting. I found these K2 wheels and went to buy. They were out of stock for a few weeks, but eventually got re-stocked. It was worth the wait and the great deal. My skates look and feel like new again and this was best deal in town. Thanks Amazon for your fast shipping and awesome pricing.

I purchased these K2 wheels from Amazon and received them in mid June 2012. After 3-4 uses they are more worn that the original wheels I had on my 12 year old K2 skates. Most wheels have a number of visible cracks in them and one of the front wheels is missing a sizeable chunk.

Needless to say I'm very disappointed as these did not live up to the quality I expected from K2. I'm just outside of Amazon's return window and would have returned these for a replacement otherwise.

I have K2 blades, and love them, but the wheels wore very rapidly. I needed to rotate the wheels after every blade.

However, on my 4th ride on the new wheels, two of them completely disintegrated. Fortunately, I avoided taking a bad spill, but it left me to walk back 3 miles.

Upon closer examination, it appears poor materials and faulty manufacturing are to blame. Look for another wheel manufacturer, you will get hurt on these.

If you still want to buy these wheels, I can forward you the pictures of my wheels after 4 rides, and you can think about it.
