I bought this knife for the intent as using it as a beater knife, i.e., one I can use on tough cutting tasks without the guilt of possibly ruining the knife. Compared to knives if similar price, it blows them away in terms of quality and sharpness. I like the AUS8 steel blade and the black coating. I also like the black coated clip. The FRN handle feels solid, but it could use a bit more traction. The lock back mechanism had no play. However, it is not as secure when compared to more expensive knives, which is OK. I tried the zip-tie pocket snag, and the locking mechanism did no hold the blade in open position. It rebounded and became loose again. It is not a problem anyway, as the blade deploys fast and has very little slop in the open position. This is a best buy!

The dozier line is truly awesome. No bells, no whistles, but just good AUS 8 steel which is RIDICULOUS in a knife this cheap. Most knives at this price point use horrible quality stainless steel. Love the pink as the color stands out if dropped in water or dark conditions. Orange might be even better but I can't resist pink.

I like the knife. i just wish it had the notch where you could push it open with one finger. i carry it when i walk the track. it has a way to where it on your waist which is great. but if i ever got attacked i'd have to use two hands to open it.

Love this knife! I have owned many knives over the years - some good quality, some poor quality. This knife is my everyday carry. I really enjoy the AUS-8 steel it is comprised of. It sharpens rather easily (CRKT Sharpener) and keeps an edge better than I expected. I use this knife for everyday tasks. Because of the price, I don't mind subjecting it to a little abuse here and there with things you wouldn't dare use your top brand name knives for. KA-BAR Dozier did a purdy good job with this knife! I even bought a 2nd one in case they went out of production. I will probably buy a 3rd and 4th.

I am currently on a military base in Iraq, and go jogging/running on a regular basis. There are a lot of TCN's (third country nationals) that consist of Iraqi's, Indians, and Ugandans. When I go running, I have to go at night, as I work 72 hours a week, and it is always dark outside. Although I try to go with a friend, you never know what is going to happen, and there have been a lot of rape cases around here lately even (sadly) the soldiers are part of this.

I know it is always better to be safe than sorry, and I wanted something that wasn't too small (for protection) but not too big that it would be a pain while I'm out jogging. Then I found this little handy knife. It has a little thing on it so that you can attach it to your pants, and it is REALLY sharp (so be careful!)

For the price, you can't beat it-plus it is girly and functional. I use it all the time, especially when I get packages that are hard to open. Definitely will buy again...if I lose it lol...
