This isn't a pocketknife in the traditional sense. You won't use it for slicing apples, preparing kindling, etc....
What it is, however, is a nasty little surprise for any goblins who attempt to grab you in the parking lot and you can't grab your Sig 238. Nasty point, nasty sharp. Definitely the sort of thing to ruin a bad guy's day. I have my keys attached to the sheath, and it easily fits in my suit coat pocket. I'd rather engage w/my pistol at 5 yards, but this is like having a razor-sharp human claw. As for the size, I'm 6 foot, 220, and take XL motorcycle/ski gloves and have no problem grasping the handle securely.

CLicks firmly into hard plastic case. Great for a neck knife to cut seatbelts, etc. This may be very useful in a close, locked or pinned position. I wear it out of sight with a break away strap connected directly to the larger hole. Pinned down, this could save your live against a violent criminal. Case can be laced in boots. Last ditch is a good description.

The name is self explanatory if you have to use this knife, you've gotta be completely out of options. This is actually a Kabar TDI which is made in China as opposed to Kabars made in Olean Ny. TDI knives are PRODUCED by Kabar but were actually created by the head of the Tactical Defense Institute made as a last resort knife for police officers and the entire TDI series is made out of 440 stainless steel which differs from Kabar's usual 1095 carbon steel

Pros:
Small and ultra portable
Sheath holds knife tight until needed
Easy to pull from sheath
Comes razor sharp
Useful for opening boxes or cutting open blister packs
Light enough to wear and forget
Quick to sharpen
Easy to hone

Cons:
Not great at self defense
Not very intimidating
Only has room on the knife for 3 fingers (does not feel secure)
Blade is too small to slash, stab only

Although this is not as good as the regular TDI knives, it still works much better than other small neck knives. I would give this 3 stars, but it is REALLY good at opening blister packs and other annoying packaging material which I love.

This is a great, concealable last ditch, or even quick access, knife. I like the design, the size and ability to tuck it out of sight.

Problem: Ka-Bar, this is the second of your knives I have purchased that boasts "Made in America". I try to buy American to support our internal industry, its my preference. I do feel tricked when my product arrives with "Made in Taiwan" stamped on the blade. Seriously, because your offices are in American does not give you the right to say your product is American made when it is made overseas and shipped here. Get back to your roots Ka-Bar, your true fans are waiting!

As the name states, it is definitely a last ditch knife. It is very small and easy to conceal, but not my first option in a self-defense situation. I have mine looped through the shoe laces of my right shoe. You can also wear it as a neck knife or attach it to your belt with the paracord that is included. I would recommend this knife to anyone looking for a small backup knife.

I never liked pocket knives, as I felt my pocket always had something "awkward" in it. I tried small ones, and those were uncomfortable as well. This neck knife is GREAT! Real easy to get used to, and now I don't even know it is there. I even sleep with it on because it is so comfortable. It has a pin-point, and it is very sharp. It holds an edge well, and it is easy to get to, no matter what kind of shirt I have on. If I have a button shirt on, I just reach it in between the buttons, and it is always there. There are a few ways to grip it, and it has cuts at the outer round part of the handle, where the curve is, so your finger, or thumb has a good grip. I would hate to be stabbed into the neck, or face with this, with any kind of force behind it, as the fight would be over that quick. Everyday "All around" use is great, and I use it often. If you are looking for a good neck knife, this is it, period!

Out of the box it can slice through denim, nylon, and most leather jackets. the radius of the grip is awkward and allows the angle of the blade to change in your hand depending on resistance.

Bottom line: Get one for each pair of shoes/boots you have!

Suggestion to the mfg: Please add jimping to the interior edge of the finger hole on the grip!

This is a great little knife. I'm an avid runner and I do not like being completely weapon less. With this LD knife, I'm not. I wear it around my neck and forget it's there. It's so light that if my shirt gets saturated and sticks to my chest, as the knife bounces, it will travel up to the hollow of my shoulder. I've had this knife a couple of years, and every time I run it gets soaking wet in sweat, and I haven't maintained it, yet it still looks great. It is starting to rust a little on two of the corners, but when you figure the destructive nature of sweat, the lack of maintenance and the price, I'm content with five stars. Please note that the knife is designed to be handled a proper way: your middle finger goes through the hole and your thumb rests on the serrations for excellent slashing support. While it looks nice, wrapping in paracord limits the proper deployment method.
