5.0 out of 5 stars Small... and very sharp
CLicks firmly into hard plastic case. Great for a neck knife to cut seatbelts, etc. This may be very useful in a close, locked or pinned position. I wear it out of sight with a break away strap connected directly to the larger hole. Pinned down, this could save your live against a violent criminal. Case can be laced in boots. Last ditch is a good description.

3.0 out of 5 stars Last Ditch is the perfect description
If you're looking for something to carry with you at all times, look someplace else because this thing isn't conducive to that unless you don't mind lacing it into your shoes everytime you go out or wearing it around your neck like you're some kind of tactical Christmas tree. However--if you know you're going someplace where it might be handy (camping, bar-hopping with...

As the name states, it is definitely a last ditch knife. It is very small and easy to conceal, but not my first option in a self-defense situation. I have mine looped through the shoe laces of my right shoe. You can also wear it as a neck knife or attach it to your belt with the paracord that is included. I would recommend this knife to anyone looking for a small backup knife.

5.0 out of 5 stars K-Bar Neck Knife, June 22, 2009

I never liked pocket knives, as I felt my pocket always had something "awkward" in it. I tried small ones, and those were uncomfortable as well. This neck knife is GREAT! Real easy to get used to, and now I don't even know it is there. I even sleep with it on because it is so comfortable. It has a pin-point, and it is very sharp. It holds an edge well, and it is easy to get to, no matter what kind of shirt I have on. If I have a button shirt on, I just reach it in between the buttons, and it is always there. There are a few ways to grip it, and it has cuts at the outer round part of the handle, where the curve is, so your finger, or thumb has a good grip. I would hate to be stabbed into the neck, or face with this, with any kind of force behind it, as the fight would be over that quick. Everyday "All around" use is great, and I use it often. If you are looking for a good neck knife, this is it, period!

This isn't a pocketknife in the traditional sense. You won't use it for slicing apples, preparing kindling, etc....
What it is, however, is a nasty little surprise for any goblins who attempt to grab you in the parking lot and you can't grab your Sig 238. Nasty point, nasty sharp. Definitely the sort of thing to ruin a bad guy's day. I have my keys attached to the sheath, and it easily fits in my suit coat pocket. I'd rather engage w/my pistol at 5 yards, but this is like having a razor-sharp human claw. As for the size, I'm 6 foot, 220, and take XL motorcycle/ski gloves and have no problem grasping the handle securely.

This mini Ka-Bar lives up to its name: It is very tough, beautifully designed and it does what it is supposed to do (be invisible until you need it inside a thug's neck). The only bad thing about it is that I didn't have for 24 hours and I already lost it, and since it's so small, I am having a very hard time looking for it. All in all, a great buy for a relatively low cost.

4.0 out of 5 stars High expectations, in the end I was disappointed., November 14, 2011

I am certified in knife training and loved the idea of this "Last Ditch" knife in a survival or mugging type situation. This is definitely la stabbing weapon, as it is just not as effective for slicing. Other reviewers refer to this as a neck knife which I completely agree with. This knife has the perfect length to penetrate the common carotid, jugular and even the sub-clavian arteries. Don't forget about the brachial artery inside the armpit/along the bicep as well as the radial and the femoral arteries. Anatomy aside I loved the fact that you can lace the case of this knife into your hiking boots, which I did in a recent month long excursion to Kauai, Hi. My disappoint came just before I left on my trip. Granted this was after a few beers, but myself and a friend had the bright idea to take over 50 plastic grocery bags and wad them up into one bag and tie it off. We then proceeded to stab in a downward motion with this knife just 4 or 5 times. The knife penetrated with ease and the aggregation of bags literally fell apart. I must say we were both very impressed. However I then noticed the razor sharp "tip" of the blade had broken off... I was able to use my smiths pp1 sharpener to somewhat restore this knife's sharp tip, but it just isn't the same.

Either way my friend decided to order 3 of these after my demonstration lol.

I do recommend this knife, however just be careful what you stab it with the "point" is very fragile :\

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost 5 stars...except for one problem, December 27, 2011

This is a great, concealable last ditch, or even quick access, knife. I like the design, the size and ability to tuck it out of sight.

Problem: Ka-Bar, this is the second of your knives I have purchased that boasts "Made in America". I try to buy American to support our internal industry, its my preference. I do feel tricked when my product arrives with "Made in Taiwan" stamped on the blade. Seriously, because your offices are in American does not give you the right to say your product is American made when it is made overseas and shipped here. Get back to your roots Ka-Bar, your true fans are waiting!

I love this product and is excellent for lightweight camping. It is also good for opening boxes. However, I incorrectly assumed it would be made in the USA like other Ka Bar products. It is made in Taiwan, which is one reason it is so much cheaper than most Ka Bars. This certainly doesn't make it a bad product, but it should be worth noting in its description.

I bought this as a last stand self defense tool and I am VERY pleased with it. Worn around the neck attached by ranger cord you can easily forget you even have it on you.
Fortunately Ive not had to use it for the purpose which it was acquired. I do find myself getting it out regularly to open the occasional box from amazon (god love em) or any other number of misc tasks one might tpically need a knife for. It isnt really designed to do any heavy work but for small jobs it is perfect.

It is a perfect little last stand knife. I actually just purchased a second to lace onto my tactical vest.

Get one, great value for the money.
