As with all kabar products you are getting a quality item at a low cost. This knife is not an exception to the rule. I had a hard time deciding between the classic 1095 steel knife and this one that uses 440a stainless steel. After a lot of consideration I decided on the 440a knife because the stainless requires a lot less maintenance for a nearly identical performance. I look forward to using this knife while hunting and camping. This knife comes with a hard plastic sheath which is good quality. I decided on the plain edge instead of the serrated edge because the serrated edge was nearly $20 more($76) from amazon. I got mine in two days with amazon student and the total cost was only $58. You can't beat that price. It doesn't feel like its too sharp right out of the box but it easily cut through a piece of paper so it must be pretty sharp. Get this knife, you won't be disappointed.

Awesome Ka-Bar,

This Ka-Bar holds up to the Ka-Bar reputation. Mine came hair splitting sharp and has the coolest design out of all the Ka-Bars in my opinion. The blade is super strong and stainless you you don't have to worry about rust like with their carbon blades. I have put one through heavy use and not one nick on the blade. Awesome knife for an awesome price plus you get the very nice kydex sheath with it thats worth $15 by itself.
Get this knife you won't regret it. One of my favorites.

I really love this knife. The grip is good and it came out of the box already with a pretty nice edge on it.
The two issues I have with the knife are the finish on the blade and the end of the handle. After limited outdoor use I noticed the finish on the blade was showing wear and that the coating was starting to rub off. The end of the handle makes switching positions in your hand somewhat difficult, however, this does provide access for a loop to secure the knife to your wrist for underwater use. Overall, I'm impressed with the quality and I expect to have this for many years to come.
