I take 5 mg a day and 2 zinc acne pills, and now my face is nice and smooth and if I break out, it is only for a short time.

I'm 26 and I've had trouble skin ever since I was a teenager, it seems I've always had at least a zit or two plague me (especially before my period) but about 4 months ago my face exploded with horrible, painful acne around my jawline, neck, forehead, and chin. I'm still not entirely sure what triggered it, but it was devastating. People would actually come up to me to ask what "happened" to my face, if I was having an allergic reaction or something. I teach high school, and I had worse skin than my students!

I googled "adult acne" extensively and tried all the cures I could find (starting with the most natural but eventually I got so desperate I tried paraben-laced treatments!)

I cut out gluten from my diet. I cut out nuts. I cut out dairy. I cut out sugar. I tried Zinc for Acne 100 Tablets but no noticeable improvement. I tried L'Oreal 3 Steps Intensive Adult AcneResponse Kit but no difference. I used Salicylic Acid 20% Gel Peel, 30ml (Professional) (ouch) but I was still breaking out (and peeling now). I bought Neutrogena Complete Acne Therapy System which I am still using, but NOTHING made a difference like this product.

I easily spent about $100 on various cures and many nights staying at home rather than going out because I was so embarrassed, but I'll spare you some heartache.

First off I want to start off with the good. This does a fantastic job at keeping Acne away. I am 24 almost 25 yr old male. I have suffered from acne since I was 13 and severely in my teens. I have tried proactive, Acutane, Minocycline and every over the counter product possible. Nothing kept my acne away.
This product has offered me what I want, to keep my acne away. It does a great job at it, I have had 1 or 2 pimples since being on this but they were smaller, some never formed a head and healed before they emerged to the surface.
Before this product I would awake in the mornings with a huge pimple, enormous under the skin no matter how hard I tried. Lately, since taking this product I have not had that problem.

HOWEVER, like many people in reviews and on the internet are recommending. They recommend starting out by taking 10 grams of this a day to keep acne away. These are 1,000 MG in 1 pill. Which would mean you would have to take 10 of these horse pills a day!
1,000MG = 1 GRam.

It recommends to take with food as well, which means you need to take it with some type of food 10 times a day, if you do so. I suggest you take it with something very low in fat, non sugar and healthy as the extra calories will rack up fast. My other suggestion is to not take it in this big of a dosage.

I have taken it only 4-5 times a day. It has given me upset stomach from not taking it from food all the time, not to mention you are overdosing yourself and you will get the diarrhea. I recommend not taking it more then once or twice daily. It helps with acne but the side effects of Nausea, Diarrhea and the constant urinating. It is just a bit frustrating.

All in all, a great product for Acne. Just pay attention to how much you take and how your body reacts to it.

I'll make this simple and to the point. This is the miracle pill, just Vitamin B5, a water-soluble tablet. It was able to stop my oily face from being so oily, thus ~95% curing my acne. I read about it on [...]. I was highly skeptical, but I tried it and for the first time in my life I can go off of antibiotics with confidence. This is just now getting discovered, hardly used in medical tests but I can tell you just like everyone else on here that it does work. I take about 8 grams a day, (with or without meals). Most people dose 3 times a day, but I just dose 4 grams twice a day (morning and night). That's all it takes!

10/2/12 update:

I stopped paying for Pantothenic Acid mostly because it started getting pretty expensive. When you're taking 8 pills a day, it really adds up especially because there are only 12.5 days of dosing per bottle. A second reason for quitting is because I had a temporary spike (1-2 weeks) in my liver enzymes (ALT/AST)-- most would say B vitamins wouldn't cause that, but I am quite sure it was that. Take into consideration I was dosing 4 grams twice a day-- that could have put me at a higher risk of liver enzyme elevation.

Conclusion about Pantothenic Acid: It's great if you have the money as it truly reduces the amount of grease on your face, but make sure that you get a blood test in the future to ensure you aren't having continuous elevated liver enzymes.

I am 28 and after the birth of my son I had persistant acne that would not go away. No matter what product I used (over the counter or prescribed) it was still there. I took accutane when I was a teenager (with horrible horrible side affects) and pantothenic acid gave me the same results without all the nasty side affects. Truly a miracle pill!
