5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, Great Price!
We have tried many company's Stevia Product and Kal is the best we have found, and Amazon's price is the lowest we have found. And of course the order came quickly, was accurate and we couldn't be happier with this deal!

1.0 out of 5 stars Kal Stevia Extract Review
I bought this product at Vitamin Shoppe a couple of days ago and tried it in my Super Big Size cup of freshly squeezed lemonade. Unfortunately, I misjudged the strength of the product and added 1/2 teaspoon. Needless to say, my lemonade tasted horribly gross! The wicked licorice aftertaste overshadowed any sweetness it was suppose to have.

Okay, so I threw...

The flavor of Kal Pure Stevia can't be beat. It's even better than sugar, and there is no unpleasant aftertaste. It's potent, too; you won't need much and the 3 oz size lasts for quite a while. Simply put, this is the best sweetener available today, much better than all competing products, and totally natural and healthy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Stevia, February 17, 2006

There are several reasons why this product is the best. Most other brands are less sweet, requiring that more product be used. Additionally, many other brands do not dissolve well unless you're mixing into hot water. This one mixes easily in hot or cold, and very little is needed to achieve sweetness. Also, this one leaves no strange aftertaste. Kal is also the most cost-efficient brand, given its strength. Highly recommended!

Because I developed an allergic reaction to processed and artificial sugar, I've been using Stevia for more than 3 years now, and have purchased numerous Stevia information and recipe books during that time. I'd read that KAL was the best tasting brand, but KAL wasn't sold locally, so I had only used NOW powder or Sweet Leaf packets, which can make home-made desserts bitter, if not combined with fruit or if not used in precise measurements. When my local NOW source couldn't deliver for 2 months, I checked on-line for a quicker source and discovered KAL brand available and decided to try it. I am so glad I did. The taste is never bitter. As an experienced Stevia user, I highly recommend KAL as the best tasting stevia available.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but could be better, October 10, 2004
This review is from: KAL - Pure Stevia Extract Powder, 3 oz powder (Health and Beauty)
I like the taste of this but it doesn't dissolve very well in hot drinks. I have to stir it for awhile to get the little clumps of stevia out. I like the Stevita brand better.

Too bad the Government doesn't allow this to be called a 'Sweetener". I would have started using it a long time ago. Maybe then I wouldn't have Diabetes now. It is by far the best 'Sweetener' I've ever used, and I've used the top 3 artificial sweeteners on the market today. It's even better than sugar and has no aftertaste. You have to use it sparingly though because it is very sweet to the taste.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Stevia Extract by Kal, March 3, 2008

We use 2/3 - 3/4 teaspoon of this in one gallon of lemon-ade or kool-aid. It tastes great. It works great in pudding! The flavor is so much better than the individual packets I was buying at my local health store. This product is not cut with anything like the packets are. Several of the packet products have maltodextrin etc in them. This is so much better. It is VERY potent, so you will have to experiment with how much to use. I also use it with erythritol for baking.

If you like pure sweet taste and no chemicals or after taste, then you will like this product. I have been using this for several years and I have tried most of the stevia brands on the market. This one has a far superior sweet taste that is great for hot or cold drinks and baking. It only takes a tiny amount, so don't let the price fool you. A little goes a very long way. The Kal stevia does NOT have the bitter after taste that many of the stevia brands have, and it does not have anything added to fluff it up. This is the pure and natural sweet stuff!

Kal also make this in a 1 ounce package and small packettes to be carried with you, but buying it this way is still my favorite.

Sweet dreams! *I bet you will be happy that you bought this product!*

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Replacement For Sugar, July 23, 2011
This review is from: KAL - Pure Stevia Extract Powder, 3 oz powder (Health and Beauty)
A TRUE REPLACEMENT

After 60 years, I've broken my sugar addiction. Before pure Stevia, I used Splenda and later Truvia/Purevia (Stevia cut with bulking agents) for several years. The Truvia/Purevia were better than Splenda, but both the Splenda and Truvia/Purevia left disgusting residues and just didn't taste right (because of the fillers or bulking agents added). More importantly for me, I could not fully enjoy my gourmet coffee with either. When I first began using pure Stevia, I appreciated the better flavor and lack of a residue, but it still did not taste quite like sugar to me. However, after 6 months of pure Stevia, it tastes like sugar to me, and I am again enjoying gourmet coffee.

Perhaps more precisely, pure stevia is "as satisfying" as sugar for "cutting the edge" of bitter or sour drinks and foods---the way most people use sugar. However, it is not as intensely sugary-sweet, regardless of how much you use. For a rare, once-a-month "desert" cup of fine coffee, I still use real sugar and real cream.

COMPARISON TO SWEETLEAF STEVIA POWDER

SWEETLEAF STEVIA POWDER contains the natural fiber Inulin as a bulking agent. KAL STEVIA POWDER does not. The Inulin does not seem to affect the flavor nor leave a yucky residue (as do the nasty bulking agents in Truvia/Purevia). Possibly due to the Inulin, SWEETLEAF STEVIA POWDER dissolves easier thand KAL STEVIA POWDER. SweetLeaf Stevia Powder, 4-Ounce Shaker Jars (Pack of 2)

EASE OF USE

SWEETLEAF STEVIA POWDER and KAL LIQUID STEVIA are easier to measure than KAL STEVIA POWDER, because the KAL STEVIA POWDER is much more concentrated. However, the KAL STEVIA POWDER comes with a tiny spoon which I find works perfectly well for measuring stevia for my coffee. However, the KAL STEVIA POWDER is so concentrated that it is difficult to sprinkle over a sliced fruit dish. Pure Stevia Liquid Extract - 4 oz - Liquid

SWEETLEAF STEVIA POWDER dissolves easier than KAL STEVIA POWDER. That is not a problem for hot drinks, but SWEETLEAF STEVIA POWDER or KAL LIQUID are preferable for cold drinks, such as iced tea or limonade. I also find that unsweetened fruit cups etc. are just too sour for my taste---a few drops of the KAL LIQUID STEVIA makes them perfect.

ECONOMY

$15.22 for 2 4oz bottles of SWEETLEAF STEVIA POWDER versus $18.44 for 1 3.5 oz of KAL STEVIA POWDER (the price at the time of this writing, both with free shipping on orders >$25) may seem a bargain, but the KAL STEVIA POWDER is much more concentrated. A 3.5oz jar of KAL STEVIA POWDER claims to hold 2381 servings. A 4oz bottle of SWEETLEAF STEVIA POWDER claims to hold 230 servings (= 460 servings for 2 bottles). The economy of KAL LIQUID is probably similar to SWEETLEAF STEVIA POWDER.

I use "3 servings" per mug of strong coffee, so 1 bottle (3.5oz) of KAL STEVIA POWDER = 600 mugs of coffee, to my taste; while 2 bottles (8 oz) of SWEETLEAF STEVIA = 153 mugs of coffee. So, the KAL STEVIA POWDER is clearly the winner for pure economy, but even the SWEETLEAF STEVIA is far cheaper and superior to Truvia/Purevia.

CONCLUSION

For coffee and other hot drinks, KAL POWDER is the most economical. For cold drinks, fruit etc. SWEETLEAF POWDER (or KAL LIQUID) is more convenient.

General Recommendation: After major grocery shopping expeditions, sit down at your computer with your reciept, and check if you can buy any of the non-perishables through Amazon. When you find items (even if more expensive than you just paid), put the item on your Amazon wish list, and add a note to the wish list of the price you just paid. Check your wish list frequently, and when you see an item you need at a bargain price, buy it.
