Among all of the GMAT books that I have used and reviewed so far, this is the ONLY ONE TO WHICH I GIVE 5 STARS. Why? It is because it is the only guide in which I can't spot an error and the test taking strategies actually work!! However, it is NOT for people who have forgotten the Math basics and also not for those who have poor grammar and poor reading skills. This is not a book of tutorials for people who haven't learned the basics in high school and college. This is a study guide for those who want to improve their score or for those who aim at getting a high score. The shortcuts recommended by this book are no good if you are not skilled at the basics. For those people who need a math refresher, they should try (1)Arco GRE/GMAT Math Review and (2)The Official Guide for GMAT Review. For those people who need to brush up their English reading and writing skills, maybe they should consider taking one year just to practice English before thinking about cramming for GMAT. The computer adaptive environment has made it more difficult to get a high score in the verbal section of GMAT.

The book focuses on shortcuts which do not work, especially with data sufficiency section of gmat quantitative assessment. There is no subsitute for learning the simple basics and skills required to deal with the GMAT questions. The only coaching material I found useful was the one offered by the Educational Training Services. This manual focuses on skills, and actually helps students develop skills required to deal with the GMAT assessment areas competently, and with great success.
