5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the Pro User
As a pro user, using this in the shop every day, I dislike "click" type micrometer torque wrenches, as they must be re-calibrated on a regular basis to maintain accuracy. I prefer beam type wrenches, as they never really need re-calibration (simply bend the pointer to line it up on 0 if necessary) and I still have my KD torque wrench (0-150 Ft Lbs, 1/2 inch drive) that is...

3.0 out of 5 stars It does the job
Don't misunderstand me on the rating, this is a good quality torque wrench. The problem I experienced is that 0-600 is a huge range and the scale is small. This makes it difficult to make precision torques. I had to estimate when I hit my torque. If you only need a ballpark measurement(+/-10)this will work fine. This is a quality torque wrench that will last a lifetime if...

I prefer beam type wrenches, as they never really need re-calibration (simply bend the pointer to line it up on 0 if necessary) and I still have my KD torque wrench (0-150 Ft Lbs, 1/2 inch drive) that is over 30 years old, and still works consistently and accurately every day. KD tools hold up under the tough daily use in a professional repair shop. I highly recommend these to anyone.

This is nice compliment to my other torque wrench, I wanted something that does inch pounds and this has a very good range. It runs from 0-600 inch pounds and should work just fine for lower torque specifications. 600 inch pounds is 50 foot pounds so this covers all the lower range I need and it seems to be well made. It is smaller than my higher torque click style wrench, it is a beam style so it has the advantages and disadvantages that go along with that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, March 13, 2011

Very good choice. Good range for most torquing. Quality built. Made in the USA. Will be reliable for years to come because it doesn't need calibrating as does a clicker or dial style. My old clicker was way out of calibration. Not as user friendly as a clicker but nice to know it will still be accurate the next time I need it.

I purchased this item specifically for performing oil changes on my Honda Metropolitan. This was the best deal for a torque wrench in the range I was looking for. Also, I wanted a beam torque wrench because of its ease of calibration and lower chance or over torquing the part. The wrench serves it's purpose, and seems solid though I do not foresee it being used extensively.

I drive really old vehicles so tend to do all repair work myself on the weekends. I needed a solid torque wrench for the low ranges. This wrench was just what I was looking for. It is well built and easy to use. This wrench should last for the rest of my lifetime.

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple is Good, October 7, 2011

I enjoy using a beam wrench due to the more reliable consistency and durability created by the design. This particular KD product appears to still be made in the U.S.A. even though there is an ever-decreasing supply of domestically manufactured tools. It is pricey, though, when compared to other beam wrenches, especially those that are foreign made. My hope, therefore, is that KD is generous with its employees. That together with its lengthy history of producing reliable tools would make the price well worth it.
