This is the replacement Long wrench for the 3136. It is used to remove and replace the thermostatic fan assembly on Ford 4.9L E and F series truck engines 1984 through 1987, Ford 4.6L Modular V-8 engines, the 2.8L Bronco 11 and Ranger engines 1984 through 1987, and the 1988 3.OL Aerostar engine. Use with 1/2' square drive tools and torque wrench.

I needed this wrench for my 2006 Ford Explorer Fan Clutch. Fit perfect with no slop, it is very well made and will spend the rest of its life sitting in the tool box. I was able to do the job without the pulley holder, that is commonly seen with these wrenches, by just holding the serpentine belt with my hand.

I bought this tool for my wife's 2002 Jeep Liberty. At first I only bought the water pump spanner wrench and figured I could use an adjustable on the hex nut, but there was not enough clearance to allow my adjustable to get down there and on the nut, so I ordered this wrench to finish the job. According to the specs this wrench is under 1/4" thick, so it fit with room to spare in an area where a conventional wrench did not stand a chance. I ended up using a 1/2" breaker bar attached to the back of this wrench (thanks to the 1/2 cutout for that) for extra leverage since the factory nut was on so tight. The extra leverage made it a cinch to get the fan off the pump shaft. It was a much nicer and cleaner setup than trying to use a cheater bar over some other wrench end. Overall this tool has a nice heft to it, and is very solid and durable. This tool should have no problems standing up to heavy duty full time professional use, if that is what you are looking for. Highly recommended if you need a water pump wrench.

Good solid, thick, quality tool! fits MOST hex fan clutch applications. If your budget is small, this is the fan clutch wrench, 36mm, that you will use most often.
