Product Features

  • Creates the illusion of an x-ray scan
  • Uses your phone's built-in orientation sensor
  • Moves, tilts with your hand

Product Description
First, let's just get this out of the way: X-Ray Scanner will not cause your phone to emit x-rays or take pictures of any kind.

Instead, X-Ray Scanner combines x-ray stills of the human body with data from your phone's orientation sensor to make it look like you're conducting your own live scan. For example: set the app for a right-hand "scan," place that hand on a flat surface, palm-down, and then move your phone slowly across it. The image on screen seems to travel across the fingers, knuckles, and wrist of your stationary hand. If you tilt the phone to one side or another, the image shows more depth, as if you were looking at a three-dimensional object. The movement of the picture and the apparent three-dimensionality create the illusion of a live x-ray.

Practice it a few times, and then see if you can trick someone into believing your phone camera actually does have a built-in x-ray scanner. Don't be too hard on them if they momentarily entertain the idea that there's an app for that.

1.0 out of 5 stars LAME!, April 1, 2011
This review is from: X-Ray Scanner (App)
So lame. I tried to 'scan' for a bunch of friends, as it is April Fools Day, and the 'scanner' kept moving on it's own. This doesn't work, not even for a prank. Don't waste your time! I wish I had listened to the reviews. I'm sure you will probably want to see for yourself, as well, and will ignore these warnings to satisfy your curiosity. But you'll only be disappointed!

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid!, March 30, 2011
This review is from: X-Ray Scanner (App)
Downloaded for a laugh, didn't think it would actually work (it doesn't, app even tells you on startup that its not real, which is fine). The problem is the calibration on the thing is off, I was tilting my phone all over the place and nothing was working the way physics and gravity say it should. Even for an app that tells you it's a lie up front, this is a disappointment.
