I live in Southeast Alaska (natural rain forest) and people recommended these boots because they adapt to the wet conditions of the environment. I chose this rating because it is my first pair of Keen hiking boots, and so far they have lived up to the high expectations that I have. I needed footwear that would meet all the different terrains in my city (rain, snow, slush, and rocky/muddy trails, asphalt/concrete).

I have a pair of old and new insulated Xtratuffs rubber boots, but I like theses better. Because they have great support. The Xtratuffs are great for nasty conditions, but they don't have the support I need. I am 6'5" and I need the extra support. I highly recommend these boots!

I recently used these on a 5 mile overnighter. The terrain was very rocky in places and very sandy in others. Performed well kept my feet protected and they didn't even hurt carrying a 25lb pack.

I haven't tried these extensively, but took a pair for a spin at the store the other day. They're very good quality, much more so than the Targhee boots that they seem to be replacing. The leather is thicker and the overall build and feel are very good. The new sole is much more comfortable to walk in - it is more flexible and footfalls feel light instead of forced and clompy with the Targhees. They don't offer a lot of underfoot protection so depending on your needs they might be a bit on the soft side. As someone interested in building foot strength, I appreciate the more flexible outsole.

The fit is a lower volume and slightly narrower version of the Targhees. This suits me for the most part, as I have to tighten my targhees up quite a bit to keep them snuggly on my low volume narrow heeled feet. But, the boots are also a little narrower and lower volume in the toes - in the end, after going up a half size my wide toes are still too cramped in them. The tops of my toes are pressed against the tops of the boots, and my pinky toes are especially mashed against the sides and tops.

The lacing is all one slide, no fast loops or lace hooks. It works pretty well overall, but I would probably prefer customisable lacing options. Not a deal breaker.

A great idea overall - as person transitioning to more minimalist footwear, I love the new sole that is lower to the ground, more flexible, and has less heel rise than other Keen boot models. And the lower volume fit is in general good for me. But why did they have to make the toes narrower too? The wide toes is the Keen signature, with no other companies making squared wider toes in hiking boots. A lot of people have low volume feet with wide toes Keen, and for those that don't, a wider toebox doesn't hurt them.

Received via the mailman ontime. Nicely packed in box. Upon opening the package, put the shoes on and it's a perfect 'true size' fit. I don't have wide / narrow feet, just 'normal' feet and it fits nicely and comfortably. Color is very (if not identical) to that shown in Amazon site.

The boot fit comfortably and well priced. Have sufficient support without being too heavy. Waterproofing is great on muddy trek.

I read a few reviews that say Keen run a half size small. I am a 10.5 an these fig me perfectly, extremely comfortable right out of the box. I do, however, have a narrow foot. If you have a wide foot this might not be for you or maybe a half size up would fix that, but I find the length true to size.
I have a pair of Keen sandals which are great. This is my first pair of boots though.
I bought them as close outs on Sierra trading post. I think they were either $85 or $89, which is less than any where else I looked. Looking forward to a vacation in glacier park this summer! and these are coming along!
