These boots fit true to size, are constructed extremely well, and look good.
Fit true to size and he just had to make sure they were water resistant and thankfully they live up to the claim!!
Fit perfectly, tried them out on a eight mile hike the first day and my feet were dry, comfortable and no blisters.

I bought these because i had a big multi-day hike coming up which would have been in very unpredictable weather (in Alaska) and up to 10 miles a day for 4 days. Unfortunately we ahd to cancel the trip due unforseen circumstances, but none the less i have still put these shoes through the ringer!
I live in an outdoor paradise in Kodiak Alaska and have done everything from just waliing to and from work (about 1.5 mi each way over some roads and some rough terrain) to taking long hikes, to beach walking and tide pooling.
These shoes had exactly 0 breakin period, and they were comfy and loose from the first time i put them on my feet! They are not a traditional hiking show, and are almost like if a light flexible running shoe and a hiking shoe had a baby. The material is lightweight and thin, and the sole is a very light, flexible yet durable material. they also have great toe protection with the signature KEEN toe gaurd so when ive come up against a rock or something i have never hurt my toe.
They are 100% waterproof, and you can litterally stand in a pool of water up to about ancle hight and the water just rolls off like on a ducks back, this feature is great for tide-pooling here on the coast and my feet stay dry and my grip stays true!
I highly recommend these shoes to anyone, and i have been showing them off to friends and getting lots of compliments.

This is the best all around light weight boot. Warm, waterproof, great grip, comfortable and only 15 ounces a shoe. Fits true to size.

Compared to other Keen hiking boots I've had over the years, the footbed in these is much flatter and lacks support. As other reviewers suggest, maybe these boots would be fine if you purchased an insole for better comfort and support. These Keens also seem to run wider and larger than others. Instead of these, I went with the Salomon X Ultra Mid GTX which are also lightweight and waterproof boots for summer hikes. In addition to providing better support, I think the Salomon's are more durable (but only time will tell).

Got the boots a week before a fall Alaskan trip. Did not need to break them in. I use them for playing disc golf in the winter. The previous winter had over torqued my knee from my hiking boots not pivoting. In a summer tournament one of my opponents was wearing the Marshall WP tennis / running shoe. He was very happy with them. Took his recommendation and got the Marshall WP Hiking Boots. Same sole. Pivots very well. Keeps feet dry and warm. Wear a medium thickness hiking sock with them in 40 degree weather. Feet stay warm. Very happy with these boots.

I've been a Keen fan since 2004. I've had sandals, dress shoes, hiking shoes and now these hiking boots. These may be the most comfortable Keens I've ever owned. I'm really surprised, they fit like a glove from the moment I tried them on my feet. Some of the Keens I've gotten lately are a little narrow, but not this pair. They work for long walks and are really warm. I participated in an outdoor event that was really cold (low 40 deg F) and lasted for hours. My feet never got cold, while others were complaining that their feet were cold. I got the Raven colored shoes and they aren't black as much as a they are a dark charcoal grey color.

I broke these in walking 25 miles around city trails and then flew to Scotland and walked 80 miles of the West Highland Way. These boots are fine in many ways but have one fatal flaw - they have no shank. They're basically a waterproof basketball shoe except that they don't even have a cushioned sole. When you walk on a rocky trail the sole flexes and the rocks push into your feet. Do this for 4-6 hours and your feet will scream in pain. Go to a brick and mortar store that sells these and take along a couple of golf balls or a couple of fist sized rocks. Try on the boots and stand on the rocks. Bounce a little and you'll instantly know what I mean. Now to try some heavier boots and notice the massive difference. My brother wore the Keen Durand model and couldn't feel the rocks. Bottom line unless you're only walking a mile or two or maybe if your longer hikes are only on grass or sand these could be OK, but if you plan to do a long hike on normal improved (stony) trails these shoes are cruel punishment.

So let me say that this boot is awesome. I'm on a 6 month vacation to somewhere dusty...

    Good:
-very thick puncture proof sole with breathable, mold-able upper(around your foot)
-no break in period. i put them on and went out that night with them, no issues
-laces stay locked tight with no digging in the upper part of my foot when tightened
-wore these for about 3 days straight, after i took them off and set them outside the didn't retain that smell
-great ankle support without the crazy height on them
-feels like im wearing a tennis shoe, can even run in them without any stiffness
-great weight even after days of wearing them
-great sticky soles if you need to traverse unknown (rocky/sandy/cliff/ledge/wet) areas

    Bad:
    -nothing that i've noticed

I bought the boots 2 weeks ago. They were perfect, I agree O break in time, I have a Planto injury so I had tried on several pairs and these were the top fit, weight and structure. However, 1 week after purchase I took them on a 47km tramp and the left boot lace eyelets popped at the top of the boot, most disappointing. Note before you go tramping check that there is no fault in the lacing up area. I'll get these fixed at a cobbler, but very disappointing as this 't and has never happened on a boot I have purchased usually the sole goes before any of the fastening area.
