Rugged Style with a Waterproof Nubuck Upper

The Targhee II offers a sleek-and-sporty style and a lace-up front for a custom fit. This low-profile shoe stands up to any trail conditions and looks good doing it, thanks to a durable, waterproof nubuck upper with stitching accents and pops of bright color on the laces and around the heel.

Breathable Moisture Protection with Keen.Dry

To keep you treading comfortably on all kinds of terrain, the Targhee II features a Keen.Dry insert. This waterproof membrane offers an additional barrier against moisture yet is breathable enough for all-day comfort.

S3 Heel Support

S3 stands for Shock, Suspension, and Stability and refers to Keen's unique heel-support structure. S3 is engineered to support the foot on impact, which dissipates shock, helping to prevent injury to the ankle.

Keen Metatomical Footbed and EVA Midsole for Support

For comfort and support that won't quit, the Targhee II features a removable, dual-density EVA footbed that provides arch support by hugging the natural contours of your foot. The compression-molded EVA midsole extends the benefits of the footbed and adds an extra spring to your step.

ESS Shank Reduces Foot Fatigue

To keep you going longer, the Targhee II has a torsional-stability ESS shank in the midsole. This shank helps to stabilize your foot as you move, minimizing fatigue, so you can enjoy every moment as you push on to the next crest.

Multi-Directional Lugs for Greater Traction

To give you a steady grip on all kinds of terrain, the Targhee has 4-millimeter, multi-directional lugs on its non-marking rubber outsole. These lugs are spaced wide apart to "bite" into the terrain, giving you more dependable traction on slippery and uneven surfaces.

Patented Toe Protection

Because rocky objects and debris can trip you up on the trail, the Targhee II includes Keen.Protect, patented toe protection that wraps up and over the outsole for thorough coverage of the entire toe bed.

Keen: A Story of Hybrid Innovation

Keen began in 2003 with an inspired sandal design that combined comfort and toe protection. This radical design departure for sandals spawned the overriding Keen philosophy of hybrid innovation--striving to create new possibilities and to discover and implement original ideas.

Keen products put an emphasis on the joys of play. At the same time, Keen believes in the value of working hard to give back to the community. To that end, the company has partnered with non-profit organizations around the world to help get youth into the outdoors, protect land for its environmental and recreational value, and to give bikes to kids in need.

What's in the Box

Keen Women's Targhee II Waterproof Trail Shoe.

Whether you wear Keen's Women's Targhee II shoe for trail running or just roaming around the campsite, you're going to feel a comfortable difference over conventional waterproof active wear shoes. That's because unlike other trail running shoe manufacturers who opt for using the same waterproof membranes found on practically every running shoe on the market, Keen took a route less traveled and used a new eVENT membrane fabric with Dry System Technology for better breathable comfort in wet weather. The difference is one that you can feel--most waterproof/breathable technologies require that perspiration condenses to moisture before it can pass through the membrane. eVENT membrane fabric allows sweat to pass through in vapor form, so your feet don't feel soaked in sweat like you would in other weatherproof trail running shoes. The heel of the Women's Targhee II features Keen's S3 heel support structure, a special shock-absorbing design that's engineered to support your foot on impact, minimizing your chances of twisting an ankle on rolling terrain. Like other Keen performance shoes, the Women's Targhee II is all about stability, but if you're looking for drier socks at the end of the day, the new Dry System Technology is worth checking out--especially if you forgot to pack extra socks for the return trip home..

I bought these for a geology field school and even though I realized quickly that geology was not the field for me, i have never regretted this purchase. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! When I lived down south, I usually just pulled them out to wear on nasty weather days due to the waterproofing, but now that I live up north I wear them almost every day! They are extremely comfortable, stay on your foot (I have narrow heels), have great arch support and keep my feet dry and warm!! They are great for running errands, site-seeing trips, or climbing up mountains of granite in TX! I find that they run true to size, but if you plan on wearing really thick socks, you might consider going up 1/2 size to compensate.

This is one durable all around outdoor shoe. Very stable and totally waterproof up to the ankles! I have several pairs of Keens, my only concern is these are a little hard on the soles of my feet. At the end of the day my feet are sore on bottom, maybe a little cushioning would help. But overall they are great.
Order 1/2 size bigger than normal.

My wife loves the shoes. Other negative reviews seem to have been based on the slipage from the heel. My wife encoutered the same problem until she put the laces through the loop on the tounge of the shoe and didn't have any more issues with it slipping off her heel. Hope this helps...

I tried on many hiking boots, but Keen's Targhee Shoe was the best first impression I ever had. Both my kids have keen sandals and love the durability behind them. I never thought I'd be so delighted how comfortable the shoe felt. No pinching and no need time for breaking in. I purchased in the size as if I were buying running shoes. Shoelaces are best double tied. Great toe box protection and space. Feel confident when buying!

I'm on my second pair of these as I wore the sole off the first pair wearing them day and night for a couple of years. I don't think I'll ever wear anything else. They have great arch support so I don't even have to put my usual supports in. Lots of toe room and great for hiking. No more stubbed toes thanks to the rubber bumper. And they kept my feet warm and dry through rain and snow. No breaking in period either! I own the Keen Newport sandals also and love them as well!

Not only are these shoes comfortable, they are superbly waterproof, and warm.
The only slight downsides (not for me necessarily,) are that they are pretty heavy, and make my feet really hot! Not a summer shoe, but really awesome when its cold, dreary, and wet.

These shoes are excellent for: hiking, trail walking, every day errands, work, leisure, dashing to the car in the rain, snow, and mud. I really like the large toe box. The shoes are comfortable and not too wide. They tend to run a half size small in my experience. I have three pair of Keen sandals, as well as, the variety of Targhees that I've owned. I tend to buy a new pair about every 18 months and then demote the current pair to yard work and "poo-patrol" when picking up after my Yorkies. I love the fact that these are water repelant to water proof. Be sure to read the specs as Keen offers shoes in both models. My preference is the low cut shoe over the ankle height. Just feels better for me. I have experienced ZERO break-in time for this brand of shoe. The color selections are muted and very similar to each other. Get over it...I have yet to see Keen offer a bright blue or red Targhee. (Although that'd be cool. I'm totally all about blue.) The soles of the shoes take a long time to wear as they are made of Vibram. Great stuff. The foot bed is removeable and there is plenty of room for orthodics if you wear them. I have worn out the foot beds and just replaced them with after market variety. The laces are really long so you may either have to cut them down or double-bow tie them. Just something I've noticed over the years. Unless your mom is a totally hip kind of woman, she may not like the look of these shoes, as the toe bumper is quite prominent. My mom thinks these are hideous. Well, if she'd only try a pair and not look at her feet, I think she'd be hooked on the great comfort, weather resilientancy, and did I mention comfort? Give Keens a try. I hope you like them. I sure do.

I have wide, flat feet and have had to deal with foot pain and/or numbness when I walk or stand in any of my shoes or sneakers. I tried all different brands and styles without success. I have had a pair of KEEN sandals for a few years that are very comfortable, so I decided to try their trail/hiking shoes when I was looking something waterproof for walking the dogs on damp days. They fit perfectly and were comfortable out of the box. So comfortable, in fact, that at the end of the day I realized I had not had to change shoes or kick them off during the day, and, as a bonus, my feet hadn't hurt at all. They have great support and a toe-box wide enough that my toes don't feel cramped or squished together. Now, I'm a convert and they are almost the only shoes I wear! YAY!
