One of the design objectives of this case was that is should allow the Macbook Air to fully close without obstruction, so not affecting the slim profile of the notebook. Additional features are, the case is lightweight and has silicone feet for non-slip usable on most surfaces!

This case is fantastic! It really does fit like a glove! It snaps on and stays on. Previous reviews said that the top doesn't stay on, and I had a problem with it initially, but after realizing that it wasn't snapped on properly. The top part of the case needs to be snapped on from the bottom first and then snapped on the top in order to secure it properly. This case was definitely worth buying.

The KHOMO clear cover is a winner. It fits the 2011 11 inch MBA almost perfectly and snaps into place after minimal maneuvering. The instructions - a series of images make little sense, but as suggested by a previous reviewer, put the rear end of the case on the top first, pull and smooth forward applying slight pressure to the top center and the case will snap into place snugly. The bottom is even easier. The case is as advertised - crystal clear with the exception of two small areas of visible mould imperfections that appear as stress striations on my sample. These are insignificant except perhaps for the most neurotic. It does not interfere with any of the ports and appears to not inhibit ventilation of the computer. It will protect against scratches and scuffs but how protective it will be if the MBA is dropped remains to be seen. I hope I don't find out. The cover adds virtually no bulk, is mostly invisible and may actually improve the already clean and sculpted appearance with what is essentially a resilient clear coat. All in all it is not perfect but it almost is and for the price this is an incredible steal.
UPDATE: As one other reviewer stated the cover is very difficult to remove. I have a top of the line i7 and it tends to run the fan more than I would have expected. I wanted to run without the shell to see if it made a difference. I spent a good 30 minutes and concluded the only way to remove the case without damaging the Air was to essentially destroy the case carefully using an xacto or similar to weaken the clips to the point where they can be snapped off. I could not find a method to remove the shell non-destructively. So I left it on for now as it does its job and the fan is neither constant or troubling... yet.

I waited about a year to review this so I could give full testimony to its durability. First a little background about myself-- I'm a student and use my laptop heavily every day for many hours. I ride my longboard around and my laptop bounces around with wires and all sorts of stuff in my backpack, so I really do put the ultimate beating on this case. For this reason I want to emphasize that most people won't see the wear that I'm seeing on this case after 5 years that I've put on in 1 year.
FIT:
This is a VERY snug fit. If you put the case on as directed, it will never pop off accidentally (ever). On this note consider whether you want to regularly be taking your mac case free. If so this may not be for you since it takes a solid 10 minutes to get the shell off using 2 credit cards. I personally love this though since in the year I've had it I've only taken my case off once because of how non-noticable it is.
BOTTOM PADS:
Here is my quibble with this case, it is minor though. I had the little rubber 'no-slip' feet on the bottom of the case, but after a while rubbing the inside of my backpack they eventually pop out. I ended up just removing them. It slips around a tad, but still less actually than the bare aluminum on your lap. It is a design defect, however, so I'd take half a star.
APPEARANCE:
Beautiful. Much better than the popular 'Speck' cases since it does not have the big brand name 'SPECK' logo on it. I mean come on, I just dropped $1100 on an Apple laptop. I shouldn't have to advertise another company name of which I don't have any knowledge. This was the reason I bought this case initially. For "1-UP'ing" the industry standard, I re-award this case its aforementioned lost half star.
DURABILITY:
Heck I chuck my Air around all the time and its indestructible due to its build quality and un-scratchable/un-dentable due to this case. After 1 abusive year though it has many scratches and gouges (purely my ignorant fault, but hey it happens) so I'm considering replacing it with a shiny new cover, but I guess that means it truly did its job.

Death Trap
