My 2 1/2 year old is challenged by this puzzle. She needs some help, but seems to enjoy it. It's not very hard to get the pieces all turned to the right picture, but it's more challenging to get them in the right order. I think it's a good puzzle to grow with since she is satisfied with getting the subject of the picture right, but doesn't care about the plant part for now and then when she gets older she might enjoy getting it all in order! It's a beautiful puzzle and a welcome change from the standard puzzle types.

This is a great puzzle for a preschooler. It is a bit abstract in nature and my son enjoys playing with it. After awhile however, it has to be rotated out for something else, because we know that kids get bored very quickly with the same toy over and over. I have a 4 year old and an almost 3 year old and purchased it about 6 months ago, and I figure this is one of those things that both will enjoy and anyone would want as a hand me down later on. It didn't hurt that I was able to buy it at a clearance price.
