Playing Kileak made me realize too much of some things are bad. Also a game should be hard but not too hard. True the game is fun at first but the levels look too similar and frustration sets in when you can't beat a level. A Must Rent Game!

kileak, once i got some clues and hints was a very enjoyable game.actually im still playing it.the object is to go through the different levels and acquire several weapons to ultimately get to the end to defeat the dreaded dr. kim.the graphics are pretty cool and the music sounds like kitaro if you"re familiar with him.right now i"m stuck in the fifth basement and i cant seem to defeat this giant spider.ive searched the web endlessly but cannot find any other hints or clues to help me along, but im still forging ahead.

It took me forever to find a copy of this game....
I have an original, overheating Playstation that included the purple bonus disc with a few playable games and a preview of a bunch of others, Kileak being one of them. I was like "OMG....I HAVE to get that game" when I saw the preview. It was sold out or unavailable everywhere I went, and I never got a copy til late 2002. I must say, it is not a disappointing title by any means. The graphics are typical generation one PS, don't expect lush organic environments....everything has a bland greyish blue mechanical hue. The intro video and cut-scene videos are absolutely flawless, though. The pace of the game is slow-ish....and the basic level layouts are narrow corridor, square room with enemies/power ups, narrow corridor, etc.... Some of the enemies are tediously difficult, some borderline impossible to defeat....it's hard to avoid some hits from the enemy in the damn blasted narrow corridors.... It's a dang fun game though, once you get some better weapons for mass destruction. The satisfaction you feel when an enemy blows up is excellent. I've found myself running into some mechanical creep, running away and strafing to safety, then readying myself with a killer gun and charging after then enemy in an ambush, screaming "die, (...)!!!" The game sure will keep your adrenaline pumping. Overall, a quality title....7 out of 10.

What can be said of Kileak that hasn't already been said? Yes, it's hard at times, the levels after a while do seem to look just like the one you past an hour ago, but it also has it's good points as well. It has a decent storyline, okay music that kind of sets the mood but more so it has soild, straight forward game play with a bit of puzzle solving fun thrown in, if you like that sort of thing. I found it to be even more enjoyable because the Protect Armor suit and the end level bosses are designed by none other than famed Japanese artist Kow Yokoyama. Yokoyama-san is most well noted for creating the legendary Machinen Kreiger 3000 line of model kits in Japan based off of his illustrations and paintings so I was really diggin' the look of the game's mecha. But, even with that bit of fame attached to Kileak and the soild game play it does drag on and the enemy bots get meaner the deeper you go so save often to save your sanity. I think it still holds up for being an early PS game. So I give it 3, out of 5.
