Flavor Name: Variety Pack
This is now my favorite brand of "healthy" granola bars. I read up on KIND Healthy Grains Bars before I purchased them because a lot of brands claim to be healthy but are really filled with junk. These bars appear to be the real deal and are made from "five super grains" according to their website. KIND claims that each bar comes with one full serving of 100% whole grains. This is because each KIND Healthy Grains bar contains 19-22 grams of whole grains (amaranth, quinoa, millet, buckwheat, and gluten-free oats). This combo is supposed to keep you fuller for longer than the average granola bar.

I was very pleased by the taste. They do sort of have a crunchy and chewy consistency. I liked buying the variety pack so that I could sample different kinds. They were all really good and I enjoyed the flavors. I am trying to lose weight and had one of these for lunch just to test the length of time I would feel satisfied eating them and I lasted four hours until I was hungry again, which is pretty good for a granola bar as most granola bars only last me an hour or two until I am hungry again. I enjoyed them and will be buying them again.

Flavor Name: Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Verified Purchase
I have bought these bars at my local grocery and really enjoyed them, so I added them to my subscribe and save here to save a few dollars. Unfortunately, this is the second month in a row I've received "off" boxes. By that I mean something in the bars has turned or gone bad, completely ruining the flavor of the bar rendering it inedible. The first box I received like that was the peanut butter and dark chocolate flavor. 2 of the 3 boxes were fine, but the last box was awful! I double checked the expiration date (it was well before), so I chalked it up to a bad box and ordered another type (oats and honey) to try out. Same deal. One of the boxes was fine, but the other two boxes were both terrible. I don't know what the offending ingredient is, or if the problems are occurring through Amazon or Kind, but either way I'm not wasting my money on a product where I have to cross my fingers and hope I get a "good box". It's really a shame too, because when they're good they're really good!

No wheat, no soy, no dairy. My gut loves this! Tastes great too. Eat them every day and keep in the car for emergencies.

Flavor Name: Dark Chocolate Chunk Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
KIND has been a positive influence on the snack industry, offering a plethora of healthy options for those looking for a quick, easy snack bar. I have tried nearly every flavor of the KIND Nut Bar line, and am a huge fan of almost every one. Always looking to expand my options, I was eager to try a KIND Healthy Grains Granola Bar, in the Dark Chocolate Chunk flavor. Here are my impressions:

TEXTURE:
About what one would expect with a blend of grains: crunchy, but a little too crumbly. As I opened the package, pieces were falling out and breaking off, so I was unable to eat it as a fully intact bar.

SERVING SIZE:
Each bar is 35g, which isn't enough to really quell big cravings, thus not a meal replacement, but will certainly satisfy the need for a small snack.

TASTE:
Surprisingly bland, especially compared to KIND nut bars, whose flavors are rich, bold and very rewarding. The Dark Chocolate Chunk was lost in the mix of grains, and for a bar that contains 9g of sugar, there was not a lot of sweetness.

NUTRITIONAL PROFILE:
KIND, as noted above, does a great job of offering products with much healthier nutritional profiles than the vast majority of snack bars. The Healthy Grains bars are gluten-free, low-sodium, and relatively low-fat, but a little higher in sugar than I'd prefer. They are also a little too low in protein, so perhaps adding a nut butter (almond butter?) as a binding agent would be a great way to increase the protein, while making the bars less crumbly at the same time. But with only 150 calories overall, an excellent choice for a mid-afternoon snack.

Let me start off by saying I love these bars, just not form amazon. Last month a pack of 3 of these were cheaper than they would be at my local kroger in the organic/natural section so I decided to order. All 3 boxes came fine but the bars inside were old and filmy. They had never tasted like that before. I love these bars but will not be purchasing them from amazon anymore -- i will pay extra for more fresh bars.

Flavor Name: Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I've been aware of the KIND products, also knew they were gluten-free (medically necessary for me), but I hadn't gotten around to trying any of them. Amazon Vine helped close that gap, and I am happy to share my experience with the KIND peanut butter dark chocolate granola bar with others who may hopefully find this helpful. I read through the ingredients list first, was happy to see that it is pretty much comprised of all natural ingredients. I was surprised to see a reference to non-GMO canola oil, as I wasn't aware that canola oil could be from GMO production. Let's just say that I would not buy a product knowingly that contained GMO ingredients, so I was pleased to see them be explicit about the canola oil. Humans have adapted over thousands of years to the natural food supply, so we really don't know that GMO foods are safe to introduce into the food supply. Anyway, my initial impression of this snack bar was that it had a great, yet subtle, peanut buttery flavor, along with the granola, and hints of the dark chocolate. Delicious! But of course this is subjective...if you hate peanut butter or chocolate, you probably should stay away, nuff said. After eating it, there was no bad aftertaste, just pure satisfaction with a great tasting healthy snack. One issue, which shouldn't detract from purchasing, is that my sample was a bit crumbly. I had kept it at room temperature before opening and eating. I suspect that if I had stored it in the refrig, it may have held together a bit better. Maybe a bit of honey or some other binder would help hold it together better, but this obviously doesn't detract from the great flavor. I want to give it 4.5 stars for that reason only, but I can only do round numbers, so I gave it a 4. A little tweak in the recipe to bind it together a bit more, and it's a full unqualified 5 stars.
