A credible effort,
By Lestor neeker Wong (Singapore) - See all my reviews
This review is from: KINGDOM HEARTS Chain of Memories Official Strategy Guide (Signature Series) (Paperback)
The Official Guide for Kingdom Heart: Chain of Memories is a useful book for helping you understand the more generic aspects of the game. For example, the sections on cards, combos and room descriptions are very well done. Of course, you can always get these information on the Internet for free, but hey, this book has colors!
The walkthrough for the various worlds, however, is a little thin. It's understandable though, considering the randomized nature of these rooms. That said, the book at least attempted to provide deck and levelling up strategies, which always help in an RPG game like this. The tips for boss fights are also quite helpful, even though some of these fights are rather straight forward. Fans of this game may also know that when you complete the game, you can unlock an additional mode. This guide included some snippets on this mode too. All in all, I'd say the book just about cover everything you need to know about the game, and a little more. I'd recommend this to those who doesn't mind shelling out the cash for a more colorful version of an Internet FAQ.

I bought this guide for my son as he got the game as a present for his PS2. We were disappointed to realize that it is for the Game Boy not for the Playstation 2. He's going to try and use this one but I'm also going to try and find one for the PS2. Just wanted to let everyone know since it is not noted in Amazon's description.

It helped dramatically and I found it to be really well done and very helpful in explaining the different cards and what they truly did....... Also its a good thing to have when deciding on going through the game and what world cards to use....although I was already half way through with the game when I had it.....It was still nice and helped me with my other half decisions....

I was a bit shocked to see the back cover was torn in half and held together by tape, a bit dissapointed but it's not a big deal. The pages seem to be in tact at least.

Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories guide,

This is one "GREAT" guide to have. It surely helped me get through this game alot faster than usual.
I played the game once without it and missed alot of attack, and enemy cards as well as the sleights that you get rewarded through out the game. This game is linked between the first and second Kingdom Hearts games. This game is awesome. Not only do you play as Sora like in the first and second, but once you defeat the game, then you get a chance to play as Riku. Keep in mind, that after you defeat the game as Riku, then you'll obtain 3 more cards in a Calm Bounty room to 2 enemy boss cards and the last attack card. |
