Product Description

Product Description

this is one awesome game and anyone who is a KISS fan must have this game. You will really be impressed at the graphics and skill this game has to offer. Just see for yourself.

Kiss Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child is an intense first-person shooter based on the rich world created by Todd McFarlane in his bestselling Kiss Psycho Circus comic books. The world of the Psycho Circus comes alive with vivid, combat-heavy environments, a wall of audio, and more eye candy than a Kiss concert.

The game plunges four hastily recruited heroes into a demonic world of mystery and horror, where they must battle the hideous freaks of nature spawned by the dreams of The Nightmare Child. The player begins as a mere mortal and progressively acquires the powers of The Elder, the supernatural alter egos of Kiss. The Elder, embodied through Demon, Starbearer, Beast King, and Celestial, must together prevent the unraveling of the cosmos.

The nightmare minions are largely split into three groups: horde creatures, circus mutants, and bosses. The hordes have their strength in numbers and come at you by the truckload; the circus thugs are stronger, smarter, and possess special abilities that vary depending on their profession. At the heart of each realm is a nightmarish boss who puts your powers to the ultimate test.

4.0 out of 5 stars Actually worth the money September 23, 2000
In spite of the many "professional" editorial reviews, I found the game quite entertaining. The AI is about equal to Quake and the graphics engine (LithTech, I believe) looks very good, except for the holes. A hole is a space in the engine where surfaces don't quite come together and I "fell through" at least two of them. There are a few places where you can see the "edges" of surfaces and some of the enemy's actions can extend through walls. Watch out for "foot traps" that unintentionally prevent you from moving. In spite of all this, gameplay is quite acceptable, imagery is excellent, and the game is devoid of "dumb jumping tasks." Be sure and use spectator mode to take a look around each level.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun Shooter January 13, 2002
KPC was ultimately a let-down after the hype it received during development. But what you do get is a straight-forward, fun, action shooter in a dark, carnival-gone-bad world that throws hordes of enemies your way on-screen at once.
The last level is unimaginative and poor, but the rest of the game is genuinely entertaining for the most part. Many of the people who criticize the game haven't even played it, they just follow the "I'm a PC gamer" lemming mentality so prevalent on the internet, and only play whatever is cool or most popular.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-play title for old school shooter fans November 30, 2013
Verified Purchase
A definite 4.5. This shooter had the misfortune of being released 8 moths into the half life craze. Simple but well thought out combat action drives the gameplay, while end-of-level narration handles the storytelling. How Kiss Psycho Circus lost out to Silly *cough* Serious S. for the title of best recapture of the old school 'doom' feel is something I'll never know.

3.0 out of 5 stars An original game and Nice Idea March 13, 2002
Overall, I liked playing the game. I think the levels are well thought out and the weapons are pretty original especially Ace's Galaxian. I would reccommend the game to anyone for the gameplay. However, the game is buggy. I did install the latest patch and even tried emailing tech support but nobody answered me. After getting almost halfway throught the game, my game saves disappeared and for some reason the game would not load after running the game twice. It would only work again after a reboot. Also, there are secrets places in the game where you can find pages to the comic book. These pages tell you about your weapons, game items, enemies and other game characters. I am certain I have picked up pages and no new information would be available. For example there is a rage orb that affords you to never run out of ammo. If I could have found that out sooner rather than on the last stage of the game, it would have made things alot easier. There was no game manual to tell me this, you have to find pieces of the manual in the game.

5.0 out of 5 stars KISS PC GAME IS GREAT!!! September 15, 2010
By Richard
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game because I had done all the first person shooter games out there and I needed something new. The game was cheap, $2.00 plus shipping. Kiss is not my favorite rock band....too basic but I have to admit that the PC game is excellent. Great game play and graphics. Tons of levels so one really gets ones moneys worth. The game also plays great on Windows XP. Cheat codes are easy to do so one can fly around in the game which changes makes it a whole new game. After a while I actually started to enjoy the Kiss rock music as well. It fits the game atmosphere. If you want a fun first person shooter that is inexpensive, give this game a shot. Believe me, you won't regret it.

2.0 out of 5 stars A lot of fun...when it works February 6, 2002
By Andy
To start off, I would say that I would have liked to give this game at least four stars. Imaginative setting, more monsters than you can shake a stick at, frantic pace, and KISS (sorta). However, it's so full of bugs that it becomes unplayable after a while. Even with the latest patch it crashed a lot. And yes, I made sure all my hardware drivers were up-to-date. The worst problem was the corrupted save files. I'd click to load a saved game, and my entire system would lock up. The game's official discussion forum, which appears to be gone now, was full of people saying how buggy this game is. Probably worth a try as a bargain-bin title. If it works on your machine, you'll have a blast.

KISS Psycho Circus The Nightmare Child is a great game. It has amazing graphics, a good plot, the smooth gameplay and engine, but I'm not fan of KISS! I never liked KISS and never really will..but this game is soo cool that you don't need to like KISS to get interested in this game! I love this game but I still don't like KISS. I'm not saying they're bad, but they don't amuse me. On the other hand, this game absolutely does! Order it today and enjoy a fast paced, rock n' roll, thrill ride of the YEAR 2K! -Carlos Jr. aka JC Denton
