5.0 out of 5 stars keeping track of my wallet
this is a great product, all I have to do is attach it to what ever I need to keep track of and if I walk away from it, it reminds me to go back and get it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good idea, not too useful in practice.
I bought this because I am always losing my cellphone, and I thought it would be a great idea to have a transmitter that goes off whenever I get a certain distance away from my phone. I bought this because I am always losing my cellphone, and I thought it would be a great idea to have a transmitter that goes off whenever I get a certain distance away from my phone. Although the product works as advertised, I was hoping for something with a louder, more persistent alarm - this one beeps intermittently at a fairly low volume. Good if you tend to leave your phone in restaurants, bad if you've left it on the bus.

There are two ranges for the tag: one about fifteen feet, the other about thirty. I suppose this is okay if you're in the park or something, but if you're looking for something closer, this product is not for you.

Bottom line: I like having the security tag because it gives me a bit of peace of mind. I wish there were more options for range, and a louder alarm.

Purchased the TA100 - RFID Tag Alarm System to prevent loss of knapsack. The specifications make this ideal for the intended purpose. However the item does not work. The problem is that the alarm sounds when the line of site distance between the tag and monitor exceed 5 feet! Add some interference, from items like keys and the range diminishes. As an example, I was standing at a bar, with the monitor in my pocket and my knapsack on the floor, at my feet and the alarm sounded! BTW the sensitivity setting was set at 'long' and replacing the batteries, at a cost in excess of $10, did not improve the performance.

In summary, save your money. This device does not work.

1.0 out of 5 stars This item defective., December 9, 2010

I previously owned one of these and it performed adequately. The receiver ended up getting wet and quit working. This item was identical so I knew its way of functioning. This item was defective. It came with a note to not return it to the place of purchase and instead to contact the manufacturer via a telephone number or the Internet. I first tried the Internet and had no luck. I then called the telephone number and was connected to a residence that had the unfortunate luck to have a number that was listed as this manufacturer. The website merely reiterated the same information in the instruction book that came with it. There was no customer service email, only an address and a telephone number. The telephone number was different from the one listed in the user manual so I called it. I was connected with a different company than the manufacturer of this item. As a result of my experience pass on this one and consider the Zomm instead. It is more expensive but does a lot more stuff and works great.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great idea in theory but not good enough, October 22, 2010

The signal on this thing is so weak that the alarm sets off if the 2 pieces are even on opposite sides of the body. I understand a stronger signal would use more battery so it seems the real limitation here is battery technology.

1.0 out of 5 stars Junk, November 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: KJB Security TA100 - RFID Tag Alarm System (Electronics)
I bought this to put the tag on my dogs collar while keeping the monitor in my truck so I would be alerted if I ever accidentally drove off before my dog got back into my truck. This item did not work at all as advertised. In my opinion it is junk. It would sound an alarm even when my dog is sitting next to me in my truck less than one foot away. It also triggers falsely when I set both the tag and the monitor on my kitchen table less than 4 inches apart.
I would return this and demand a refund but I threw the packaging away before I tested it because I was confident it would work(based on a review I read, funny huh).
Dont waste your money!!!
