Needs some tweaking but....,
By
This review is from: KJV Single-Column Bible (Bonded Leather)
I was glad to see that a handy size Bible was finally printed in single column format, however, some things need to be tweaked in my humble opinion. As usual, large print is advertised but is still a disappointing smaller size. They hopefully will upgrade to a 11 point font in the future. Also, the 'black' bonded leather is actually "black-brown Distressed", meaning it's much more brown than black. When I first saw it in the local store, I asked to see other copies and they were all the same. So if you're expecting true black, it's not. Another thing is that there's no red text.
All that said, it's still a pretty good buy. One feature I like which they don't express in advertising is that most of the footnotes that are included are from the original 1611 King James Version. You don't see that often at all! Overall, it's a good purchase, just be aware. God Bless!

I couldn't wait for this Bible to become available. I almost sent it back when I got it, I was so disappointed in it. I would have given it three stars but it is the Authorized King James Version with footnotes from the 1611 Bible.
The Good: It is a single column Bible in the Authorized King James Version. It is a nice portable size. Set up so it is easy to read like a book. It has a concordance. It has a ribbon marker. The Bad: The print is not the easiest on the eyes. I would estimate it as a type size 7. The pages are thin. You can see the print on the other side. They are hard to turn when you are searching for scripture and they want to wrinkle. In the New Testament, there is no distinction when the Old Testament is quoted. The paragraphs are too long. My Bible was supposed to be black, but is in reality more of an olive color. The overall quality of the Bible is just a small notch up from a gift Bible. They could have done so much better. I hope they fix these problems. The idea of a reader friendly KJV is a really good one.

This Bible is an excellent choice for everyday reading and studying. Without the chapter and verse interruptions, it's like reading the original letters (or your favorite novel), and your chain of thought isn't broken. I highly recommend this single-column Bible to every student of the Word.

Not a single columns bible,

This review is from: KJV Single-Column Bible (Bonded Leather)
I love the King James Version, I love to mark up my bible and make notes next to the verses. I have been on a search for a single column bible in the King James version and folks...this is most certainly not a single column. The bigger disappointment is that it is being advertised as one. The idea behind a single column bible is easy readability and large margins for note taking and this bible does not meet those specs.
Back on the hunt for a true King James Single Column Bible. |
