Other than that slightly ambiguous wording, I love these speakers. They need to be paired with a subwoofer for full sound, and it should have a fairly high crossover frequency, but they sound great.

For the money, I haven't seen anything better.

I picked them up on sale at Best Buy for $39.95. They sound very good for the small drivers they contain. After mounting them I tested them with dfferent types of music. To name a few; Eagles and Hootie and the blowfish sounded natural and the speakers breathed very well. The only thing that had coloration was the New Orleans Nightcrawlers (great band by the way, mostly horns). I did have to increase the bass on my reveiver to get some low end. But as you know speakers sound better after they have been played a while! I love the design and they look much more expensive than what they cost, even at full price.

I bought a pair of these several years ago on sale and use them as my front and rear center channel speakers for a 6.1 surround sound system. they work great.

I bought a pair of KLH C-180B Indoor/Outdoor 170 Watt Dual Woofer 3-Way Speakers used for 40 dollars at the time. Very fortunate by the way to get them - looking at what they are going for now. I used them on my 7.1 Sony surround receiver and did not particular like as left and right speaker - average performance to me. But If you use them for center channel speakers they are fantastic. The highs and lows are very clear and for the size of these things kicking out a 170 watts does very well for any surround system at home. Two for the price now is a very good deal considering the price you have to pay for one on the market. Even the bass is reasonable, but if they start to rattle a little bit make sure that you keep them at small speaker set up instead of large on you surround system.
