I picked these up to add to our "home theater" experience. We have a less than ideal space, ancient main speakers, an ordinary TV, and average technology IQ. These speakers turned out to be totally adequate. They were easy to set up, sound good, look good, and definitely improved the quality of our movie watching. I wouldn't consider them music speakers per se, and wouldn't recommend them to audiophiles, but they are totally adeqaute and inexpensive.

I just bought these brand new, all I can say is... WOW. These speakers are FANTASTIC. I am using these with a Kenwood digital 5.1 receiver, with an RCA to 1/8" cable running to the digital port on my Audigy 2ZS, and I have an optical cord going to my Xbox. These speakers are just unbelievable for how much you pay, these are worth far more. I have had a lot of experience with speakers, and believe me I was very weary about speakers for this price, but, wow, these really broke the mold. In general, the more you pay for a product, the better it performs, but not always. These are one of the rare exceptions.

Opon receiving the box from UPS, I could just feel that these were quality, these suckers are HEAVY. The center channel is a beast, and the bookshelf speakers are also very sturdy. I have two large KLH bookshelf speakers for the fronts, the center channel that came with this package, and for the rears I use the bookshelf speakers that came with this package as well. For the sub I have a 10" KLH front firing subwoofer that I got for $50 brand new. I modded the hell out of it (added polyfill, added extra screws to hold the driver in place, and painted the driver to make it heavier) and it is now tight, clear, accurate, and LOUD. I have an entire surround speaker system with excellent quality for only $125! You cannot beat that for value/performance in this price range.

Yes, I know many people say "KLH sucks, they are bottum of the barrel" and such. And of course there are better speakers, but that does not mean that these are bad quality by ANY means. I consider myself a major audiophile, and I LOVE these speakers - I could not be happier. :)

When you buy something at this price level, there is always a concern about the quality of the product. Well, these were a really nice surprise.

The minute you pick the speakers up and feel the weight, you know that they are well made. The sound from the speakers is exceptional for the price. Remembering that the center is for voice and the surround for effects: they perform an exceptional job for what they were designed to do.

One star was knocked off because the surround speakers do not have any stand connection on the bottom or back and clearly these were not designed to sit on the floor.

The applewood finish matched my decor perfectly and I am very pleased with this purchase.

This is the 4th set (pair) of KLH products I have bought and have not been dissapointed yet! Good quality at a great price. All three of these speakers have good sound quality. Product arrived two days after Amazon shipped (free). I would and will continue to buy KLH products in the future.

Have owned KLH in the past but these are the best. Great sound at a great price and very nice looking too.Am happy to recommend them

INITIALLY I WAS DISSAPOINTED IN THE HUGE SIZE OF THE CENTER SPEAKER, BUT AFTER REARANGING MY COMPONETS AROUND A BIT I AM NOW COMPLETLY SATISFIED WITH THESE SPEAKERS.
THEY LOOK GREAT WITH HIGH QUALITY APPEARENCE, AND THE SOUND ALTHOUGH NOT TOP NOTCH ARE PERFECT FOR REAR SURROUND AND CENTER VOICE, AS I HAVE LARGE FLOOR SPEAKERS FOR FRONT SURROUND.
I AM EXPECTING MY ADVENT SUBWOOFER TO ARRIVE ANY DAY TO ADD A LITTLE THUMP TO THE BUMP.
IF YOU DONT MIND A RATHER LARGE CENTER SPEAKER AND YOUR ON A BUDGET, THE THESE WILL FIT THE BILL.

I purchased these speakers for a gift and ended up keeping them as the intended recipient didn't have any way of using them w/o purchasing more equipment. I got them from Amazon for about $40, free shipping. I contacted customer service when no wiring or manuals were included. Before any questions were answered, they had shipped a replacement & had setup the return shipping of the original set. Both deliveries were quick, but Amazon wasted a well intentioned shipment. The 2nd set was the same. I purchased some cables and have the sattelite speakers hooked up. I don't have a connection for the center speaker, which I hope to upgrade in the near future. After owning these for a year, I'm very satisfied with their performance, and find the cabinets attractive and a good match with my system. The lack of a 5 star rating is due to the lack of the advertised speaker wires and any kind of manual that might have given suggestions for optimal use to a non-audiophile like myself. Only a spec sheet was included. As another reviewer pointed out, it would have been nice if the sattelite speakers had been equipped with some kind of wall mounting capability. I have mine setting on shelves. Thet just don't cut it on the floor.

I am quite impressed by the quality of these speakers, especially given the price. It is very hard to find a set of 3 surround speakers for anything approaching a reasonable price. But these speakers were rather inexpensive, and they look and sound good.

As others have said, a wall mounting bracket would be nice. Although, many stores carry small picture frame brackets that can just be tacked into the back of the speaker, so it is not really a big deal.

Also as others have said, no wires were included. However, my amplifier came with wires for the surround speakers, so perhaps it is standard that the amplifier comes with the wires instead of the speakers coming with them?

Also as others have said, a spec sheet was included, but a manual was not. I'm not sure what kind of manual the other reviewers wanted. Again, my amplifier came with suggestions for arranging your speakers for best results, so the speakers themselves didn't need to come with those. And other than speaker placement, the assembly seemed pretty self-explanatory to me...

I'm using a sub from a Logitech set right now, but might go for the matching sub if I can find it for a reasonable price somewhere. When choosing subwoofers, make sure the frequency range on the bottom end gets as near to 20Hz as possible (Most go only down to 40HZ) because the range of hearing is from 20Hz to 20KHz. You WANT a speaker with that low end, even if you listen to classical music - think about the way you FEEL rather than HEAR the sound of cellos, basses, the left hand of the piano, timpani, drums. That's what a subwoofer ought to be able to handle and it doesn't mean you'll be blasted away with bass. It's just a proper soundstage for ultimate experience.

Took the place of much larger speakers and it gets the job done maybe even better then the lager speakers sound quality good.
