I was extremely impressed with these speakers. The sub is not powered but it still thumps pretty good. We watched the X-men movie the other night and the house was almost shaking with the incredible sound produced by these speakers. Obviously not high end price, but certainly great quality for the cash outlay!

I read all the reviews before I made the move to purchase this and I too was scepticle. But I have heard of KLH and it's been all good, so I went for it! This is a great system and it connected up with my older Pioneer reciever. The only thing I was disappointed with was the lack of longer speaker wires. I extended them with additional wire to place them in all the right places. It was a great compliment to my already awesome Sansui house speakers. This was a good purchase.

I didn't have alot of money to spend, but I needed home theater speakers. I was very surprised at the high quality of these speakers. I plan on buying another set in the near future for my second TV room. For the price, you can't beat them. I definitely recommend their purchase.

I bought this set when Amazon had the Friday sales...I am just getting into the whole home theater thing, so I was looking for highly rated speakers on a budget. Well, they came today, and the set COMPLETELY exceeded my expectations. The speakers are well build, in nice wooden cabinets. Set them up at well thought places in your living room, and the sounds are terrific. The set are a LOT larger than...tiny pictures. Woofer is EXCELLENT when placed at a good corner. I placed mine next to my sofa in the corner against the bookshelf, so the sound can bounce around the shelves, and it is AWESOME! The set is still a steal for 99 bucks. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I'd never heard of KLH until I bought a pair of large bookshelf style speakers for general audio purposes. The speakers were KLH's and they blew me away. How could I get a pair of speakers that sound this good for under [$]? Which is why when I looked for a home theatre set I went straight for the KLH's. This set is extraordinary. I've had them for well over a year and every time we watch a DVD we're still enamored by the sound these things produce. A 6 piece home theatre set for under [$]sounds ridiculous. It's not, if you're buying KLH.

The center, front and rear speakers here are remarkable. I have friends who have spent several hundred dollars on sets of speakers, and there is really no noticeable difference in sound quality. However, the subwoofer here is simply a waste of space. Just toss it. Buy yourself a high quality sub. When combined with these speakers, you'll have a great home theater set up, and you'll still have paid less than your friends.

if it wasn't for the center speaker being worthless, then it probably would be a good system. I suppose it must have gotten banged up in delivery. Now I have to ship it all back to klh and I have to pay for postage. Beware buyer of electronics through mail. If something breaks you have to ship it back.

I was skeptical that you could buy an above average consumer-grade home theatre speaker set-up for less. It seemed just way too good to be true. But when I heard a demo of the KLH HT-9900 system at a well-known local chain store, all doubts quickly melted away. Instead of buying a much more pricey brand name, and after some judicious "hog-for-a-bargain" shopping on the Web, I went with this system--with the knowledge that I wouldn't be out a lot of bucks if I decided to change my mind in a year or so. Well, I've never been sorrow a day since! This set-up continues to live up to KLH's more than half-century long rep. Even the passive subwoofer put out respectable base with my aging Pro Logic receiver. I recently replaced that with a Dolby Digital receiver and also replaced the passive subwoofer with two smaller KLH BB-II 50-watt powered subwoofers and was thrilled by the even better performance that emerged from this "improved" system. You can bet that the money I've saved by going with KLH will be spent on many DVDs. Kudos to KLH for sucessfully rewriting the price vs. quality equation!

I got this package the other day and hooked it up, and it just so happens Pink Floyd was on VH1 and I turned it on--and I tell you what--I have never had my receiver at maximum output, but it was like I was there; it seemed to take me in an out-of-body experience. That is how good the sound was. Mind you, I am hooked on a 10-band equalizer and that may have made some difference, but all in all I am very pleased. The only bad thing I can say is that I didn't get all of the wiring with my shipment.

These speakers are well worth the price. They make listening to music or watching a movie very enjoyable.
