Home Theater ... GREAT! Music ... BLAH!,

These speakers perform exceptionally well with any HOME THEATER setup (Dolby Digital, DTS, etc.) This, of course, only applies if you use a powered subwoofer with the setup. Most people who have half a brain will buy a subwoofer anyway. With their 100 Watt power handling capacity, these babies really scream. Once again, I am only referring to their use with HOME THEATER setups. The sound from the speakers is well defined and plenty loud; they have never distorted, crackled, hissed, or popped on me, even at extremely high volumes, and that is a big factor in my awarding them five stars. My AMP pushes 110 watts/channel and these speakers never even flinch. The center speaker, likewise, performs its purpose with style, offering exceptional quality sound. Dialogue in MOVIES is clear and well enunciated, not muffled or metallic like other HT setups in this price range. One must remember that these speakers are built for home theater, and that's what they will do well with. Do not buy them if you are planning to use them for music. Even with a subwoofer, they will still not sound as good as speakers designed for music. The setup I would recommend is to connect these speakers to you "A" outputs on your Dolby Digital/DTS receiver, and then connect a pair of nice MUSIC speakers to the "B" outputs. Then, you can use "A" for movies and "B" for music. KLH has done well with delivering the goods. As an avid home theater buff, I have never second-guessed these speakers, nor have I ever considered replacing them with something more expensive and supposedly "better." And the price? Don't let that fool you. KLH cuts costs by eliminating advertising and marketing. Have you ever seen a KLH ad ANYWHERE? I bet you haven't. Bottom line: If you want good (and I mean GOOD, no....GREAT) home theater sound and PHENOMENAL value, buy these speakers. Just remember, they aren't designed for music. You wouldn't use a Ferrari instead of a tractor to plow a field, would you? A little analogy there. Hope it helps. Enjoy.

At first I thought there must be somthein wrong with these speakers, because of their price. They are great though! That have quality of 500 dollar speakers, and they work with any music taste. These are a bargain.

Small Speakers...Big Quality,

These speakers are perfect if you are starting on a surround sound system for the first time. They are small but they pack a lot of punch and have great quality sound. These are especially great for college kids. I am bringing these to my dorm this year and they are perfect for the size of my room. Easy to setup. Just make sure you get good quality speaker wire(not necessarily monster)and a good receiver. One things it lacks is a sub. I purchased a KLH sub which happens to be number 2 on amazons best sellers right now. With a sub this speaker set is an incredible buy and great way to start your surround sound experience.

KLH hits a home run!,

This system is a 5-star value that perform almost as well as its more expensive counterparts, but does it for significantly less. The sound is pretty dynamic and is surprisingly crisp and clear. I found that its range was enough to have me hearing everything from other parts of the house, when the sound was turned up rather loud. I love it!

Good Speakers For The Price.,

I won't over hype these speakers as the greatest, but for what I paid for them they handle what I need. First lets talk about what is good. The price of this set will get any home theater going under 80 dollars, which is almost amazing. The sound is modestly good. The bad on the other hand can be over looked because of the price. The wire that does come with the speakers is so thin I wouldn't trust it as a pro for buying the speakers. These speakers offer virtually no bass response. I wouldn't recommend using them without a powered sub. When compared to higher priced speakers using the same equipment these speakers show there limitaions. The sound is almost harsh when compared to more expensive set of speakers. But you will probably only notice it if you hook up another set of speakers. For anyone who is building a home theater and it looking for a cheap way to get off the ground I can't imagine a better set of speakers for the price.

Very Fluid Speakers!,

This review is from: KLH HTA-9005 Five-Piece Surround Speaker System (Electronics)
These speakers perform very smoothly, especially when watching high quality, DVD based titles. The center channel provides great response to the vocals and the four satellites provide the other high frequency sounds you would come to expect in a movie theater. When used with music they can go louder than you think, with a capacity of 100 watts, and combined with my 350 watt KLH 5001AV floorstanding speaker, The sound proved to be far,far beyond expectations. If you are in the market for speakers that don't cost an arm and a leg, but yet provide the sound you are looking for, KLH is there for you. Their products perform just as well as those that put a strain on the walllet. Just be sure to position them correctly in your listening space, providing enough distance and height between them to capture their full range of sound. And also be sure to get a sub woofer or a floorstanding speaker, or two, to reinforce the bass. Very satisfied with this company and it's products.

I selected these speakers based on the feedback on the Amazon reviews. They, along with the KLH 10-120 sub I bought locally, are the first KLH speakers I've ever purchased. My goal was to get a temporary surround sound speaker set for around $... (I spent $... with tax/shipping).I received these about a month ago and they sound excellent in my home theater setup. I liked these because of the pressed wood enclosure... better than plastic, IMHO. The price can't be beat either. Make sure you combine this set with a subwoofer for a full range of sound as these don't produce the low bass you might be accustomed to. For their price-range, a must-buy.

I'm finally getting into the Home Theater experience and I can tell you these speakers can handle the output from my Sony STRDE 945 receiver with no problem. I don't know how load you like to play your sound tracks but I can tell you my dogs were freak out enough to leave the living room. You must add the KLH 100 watts 8 ½" subwoofer to complete the setup. It can be had for under ($) if you shop around. One setback is the sound reproduced when using 2-channel stereo. It's a little on the thin side. They are identical in design, which is important in home theater sound, and you can't beat the great price. KLH doesn't spend a lot on advertising so don't think these are cheap junk. They come with plenty of cheap (22 gauge) speaker wire though. Amazon sells the Acoustic Research HT604 Home Theater Hookup for ($), which I bought and can recommend.

Great Speakers, Great Price!,

I bought these speakers a few months ago. They are smaller then my old ones, and are of better quality. They will also compliment any decor, are easy to hang, And come with the wire, and mounting hardware. The only thing they are missing is a subwoofer. But at this price you can always get one later. These are a must for quality sound on a budget.
