Customer Reviews

These seem as good as the high priced ones.
John Toeppen
They seem to last as long per charge, and they've been charged several times with no performance reduction observed.
Olzab
Much cheaper than buying more Kodak branded ones.

I bought the battery as the back up for my new Kodak Zi8 HD camcorder. It arrived pretty quickly and works well. I then checked its capacity by continuing recording with the Zi8. It lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes with a full charge. Not bad. As a comparison, the fully charged stock battery can record 1.5 hours. In conclusion, it has about 80% capacity as the stock one but considering its price, it is still a good deal.

This battery is a very inexpensive replacement\backup for several camera makes and models, including the Fujifilm NP-50 used in my Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR 12MP Super CCD Digital Camera with 5x Wide Angle Dual Image Stabilized Optical Zoom.

The battery is marked 1400mAh, which is higher capacity than my OEM NP-50 marked 1000mAh. I'm not really sure that the marking is accurate since it charged in 1.5 hours, compared to just under 2 hours for the NP-50. It would stand to reason that a higher capacity battery should take longer to charge, not less time. Either way, I have taken over 200 pictures with this battery and it hasn't needed a recharge yet.

The low price alone makes this worth having as a backup. I always start off with my NP-50 in the camera and keep my off brand backups in the case.

Ive only had the battery a short time and have not used it more than a couple of charges. Im using it in a Kodak Playsport Zx3. One of the first things I did was charge it up then let the camera run until the battery died. For the original Kodak battery I got 1:18. This one got 1:54.

We'll see how it does over time and after several charge/use cycles.

UPDATE:
After almost a year of very moderate use the battery will no longer take a charge. I charge it in the camera same as I do with the original battery. After 10-12 hours of charge the camera will not turn on with this battery. Swap to the other battery and it is just fine. Ive reduced my "stars" rating from 4 down to 3. At $3-$5 the battery is still not too bad a value for several months worth of use.

UPDATE: After testing one of these, I managed to record almost an hour of video while mounted on a tripod on my desk at 720p/60 before my Playsport auto shut off. Like I said below, stock up on these if you intend to shoot several hrs of video.

The reviews are pretty spot on. These are not the full potential of the OEM battery. Stock up on these bad boys, unless you want to pay $20-$25+ for an OEM. Anybody notice the short charge time on these if charging through the AC/USB adapter? It's half the time (about 1 hr) it takes to charge the OEM battery.

Although the image of the battery shows 1400mAh, the batteries I received were actually 600mAh. I emailed the seller to complain. They replied that there was a "listing error" and offered me a $3.00 refund for the inconvenience and let me keep the batteries. Fair enough. But it would sure be nice if they corrected that "listing error".
