As good a chain as anything else. The exact same chain as a Shimano, but THIS one comes with a reusable connecting link. No, I have never had one of these links fail, although I have had one of Shimano's press in pin connections fail. The chain is proving to be quite durable, and should last many miles. I only have about 1000 miles on it so far on a touring bike, but it has shown NO wear yet on my chain wear gauge. By the way....I use the KMC connector link on Shimano chains as well....works perfectly.

I bought this chain as spare and I carry it with me in my back pack during all MTB rides. The previous does not review the chain but what comes now will. This chain is the exact replacement of the one that came with my bicycle when I got it new more than 1 year ago. I have ridden more than 500 miles with it and still is in perfect condition. It is very light weight because the links AND de pins are hollow, features that does not make it weak. I advise you the following though, avoid as much as possible to change gears (sprokets) when torquing uphill.

Works much better than the pin style that came with my bike. I can easily take the chain off or replace without tools.

I picked this up to replace the existing chain on my Specialized Crosstrail Comp. There are a few models, but I believe this was the same piece originally provided by the manufacturer. Came in perfect condition and works great! I can't speak to using this chain in other applications, but if you are looking to replace the same OEM part, this piece works great!

I received excellent service and delivery for this bicycle chain. I ordered two chains as I ride a long wheelbase recumbent, so received two connecting links, one with each chain. I bicycle nearly every day, up to 30 miles pulling a BOB trailer loaded with about 40 lbs camping gear and clothes, as I travel from town to town in florida in the winter and Colorado mountains in the summer. The chain has not stretched yet (only about 300 miles) and looks nice and is quiet.

Amazon description doesn't seem to include model number. I ordered the gold color one and found KMC X9SL marking in the chain.

kmc is very innovative-why settle for less where others cost more?been using kmc for years & never any problems.other brands seem to be resting on their laurels & not advancing the tech.thanks kmc.

Good chain, espcially the "Missing Link" linking system which makes installation and removal a breeze.

Great chain reasonable price. This is the chain that came with my Jamis Aurora, it works great. I see no reason to buy an overpriced chain just because it has a name brand attached to it.

Somehow, I bumped my riding partner's rear wheel as there was a slight miscommunication as to which way he should have or have not turned. Well, that kinda freaked me out and I turned my handlebars a wee too sharp at speed. Combine that foolish action with a patch of road gravel, well - This caused me to experience one of newton's laws. When I was acted upon by an outside object (the street), I landed on my drive side and somehow torsioned my old chain right in half in a few places. Sadness.

My sadness was temporary though. Through the magical abilities of the internets to bring me low cost deals on quality chains - I sit here staring at my now functional bike with my cool chain on it. Love the pin that lets you take it off to clean. I'll try to stop running into things and falling, they tell me that is counterproductive in cycling.
