This is supposed to be a replacement for the Fram CH6005 filter for Yamaha SRX-600 motorcycles. In addition to the flat rubber gasket shown in the picture, the Fram and OEM (Yamaha) filters included two rubber o-rings to seal the filter housing. They are supposed to be replaced with every oil change. K& N didn't include the special O-rings, and I made the mistake of buying a bunch of these filters.

I received the K&N KN-145 filter very fast and recommend it, if you need one in a hurry. As with any oil filter, it's very hard to review it's performance completely and since I've just installed it. I've never had any filter (car or motorcycle) clog on me. I can say I like it's construction and it felt/looks very solid. It fit perfectly in my '99 1100 V Star, had no issues starting my bike after oil change, nor did I get any oil pressure warnings. I trust the K&N name for reliability and performance. The price is quite good as well.

It's hard to know how effective an oil filter is unless you have some serious industrial equipment. My grandpa taught me how to cut open oil filters and run them through a solvent bath to check for "chips", which told you if the piston heads were eating up the cylinders. Well, I don't exactly have that setup, and I haven't put enough miles on this particular filter to tell you if it's doing it's job correctly... but I can say that it installed without issue, and doesn't produce any leaks. I always use K&N for the air filters on my vehicles, so I figured I would give their oil filters a try. I will update if my engine seizes as a result of this filter... but I HIGHLY doubt that will happen.

I bought this K&N filter while buying other parts for my 2006 1100 v-star motorcycle ,and when it arrived, I notice the shipping was almost as much as the filter itself .
I always do my own oil changes and buy a after market filter from a local cycle shop near me for less that $5.00 and that one includes the o-rings for the v-star cover. When this K&N filter arrived I notice it didn't have the o-rings included with it , so I just reused the old ones .
I won't ever buy this K&N filter again and would not ever recommend it for this application, however I do respect the K&N brand for other applications such as air cleaners .

Purchased this for the oil change on my 2006 Yamaha 1100 V Star Silverado Classic. This filter fit as it was supposed to and does the job. I am giving it four stars because it does not come with the three gaskets that you need to replace every 8000 miles. If they would start to include those even if it cost an extra couple bucks then I would give this 5 stars. Having to track down those gaskets or pay the highway robbery price from a Yamaha vendor is a pain in the butt.

FYI, this filter only works if you have NOT installed the oil conversion kit on your bike. You will need a different filter if you have.

K&N have a great line of products. Any equivalent filter will do but K&N put the filter in filtration. High quality, high filtration, and high expectations is what I look for in an oil filter for my motorcycles. With K&N that's what you can expect. Delivery was as expected with no issues. Thanks Amazon.

I have ordered this item many times and I will continue to do so as long as my bike continues to get me around. For the price you can't pass it up and it comes in super fast after placing the order. I normally get a few at a time just so they are here when I need them.

I love K&N oil filters. Never have to worry aobut fitment. Just remember changing filters on an XV1100 is a pain in the ass. You have to remove all of the side mounted iron to get the cover off properly. Foot peg as well.
