K'Nex Lava Launch Coaster

We have an almost nine year old who builds with EVERYTHING from K'Nex to Uberstixx to all types of lego's. She even makes her own creations to include machines and things that "transform." She asked for this for Christmas and Santa brought it for her. The product says for ages 9 and up. The reality: This coaster took two adults HOURS to assemble, and MANY of the photo-instructions were difficult to decipher.

Once you DO get it put together, it works well. It is fun to watch the car ZOOM quickly around the track. For about two minutes. Then the novelty pretty much wears off. I anticipate that our daughter will leave this up for about 2 days, then start taking it apart to build other things.

She also received the K'Nex Educational series kit about gears and that item, I feel, is much better. She has already built a few different items with it and was able to do so completely on her own.

When I bought this toy and waited for it to come, I was jummping out of my pants!! It took me about 5 hours to build, but it looked awsome half way through. By the end it looked even better. I love knex, but this made me love knex even more. Its toataly worth the money. If you're looking for a good knex toy, this is the toy to get.

This thing took over a month to put together (working on it for an hour at a time off and on). Once we got it put together it was very cool and the kids loved it. Certain minor parts of the assembly did not hold together well but this could be user error. The instructions are a bit tough to manage.

This is a great product. It went fast up when I used it. Roller coaster wasn't that durable. Anyway, It's a nice gift for someone's birthday. Buy it!!! Recommandation: Over 9 and has to be at least 4.5'. I'm 5' 4'' right now.

My 11 year old son received this, and loves it. It makes them think about how things will work when putting it together. There are a LOT of little pieces though - glad he does not have any little siblings.

My son (Age 8) has built both of the roller coasters included in the instructions. This is a great learning toy to encourage exploration of basic physics and engineering: why does it work?, will it still work if I change this?, how can I make it better?. I am a big fan of K'Nex and the open learning possibilites of their toys.

Product received in timely fashion and my son absolutely loved constructing it and playing with it! In particular the launcher was much easier to use versus the chain driven motor in other Knex construction sets.

I bought this K'NEX for my son,along with another K'NEX. My boys love these toys! They have hours of fun building with these sets,so do their friends. I will buy from Amazon again. okay, so im 21 and got bored so i bought this. its pretty fun to put together and play with. I havn't played with K'nex in years and i put this together in a few hours. The only problem i have is that im colorblind and some of the parts are blue and some are purple and they look the same to me, that messed me up a few times. but ive had it together for a day or two and i havn't had any problems with it. It doesn't come with any extra peices so i suggest not loseing any peices.

We purchased this for our 11 year old grandson and he had it assembled in about a week. He loves it. It's amazing how sturdy it is. It was quite doable and still a challenge to put together. He's always been fascinated with roller coasters. Watching the cars coast up and down is a delight for us all especially seeing it through his eyes. Amazon seemed to have the best price on or offline.
