I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old and both love this toy. My 5 year says that it is "awesome". They have played with the Kid K'nex for at least an hour every day for the last month with no signs of stopping.

The pieces are large (unlike the tiny K'nex for older children) and easily manipulated with small hands. This makes them great for fine motor skills practice.

I love that my children are using their imagination to create a variety of objects, both real and invented. My husband even joins in the play and makes his own designs. The set does come with illustrations of suggested creations, but my kids didn't look at them and I think that this allowed them to be more creative.

Although this set is marketed for educational settings (I learned about them at my son's preschool), I highly recommend buying one for home. At first glance it may appear expensive but it is a great value because kids play with it alot. This is not the $10 toy that is already gathering dust a week later.

I bought this for my 4 1/2 yr. old son after watching him play with the set in his preschool classroom. It has provided HOURS of independent playtime. I love that this kit gets him to use his imagination and create his own fun. So many toys today do everything for the child and don't encourage any creativity. As an educator myself, I think this set is definitely worth the money.

I purchased this for my 2 boys - age 5 & 3 for Christmas. They have loved it. They have had fun building the creatures pictured in product and making their own. Worth the money!

This product came very fast and just in time for the christmas gift it was intended to be. Fun to play with

I discovered Kid K'Nex while working as a preschool teacher. I noticed how the kids not only used the provided pictures to make little creatures, but they also used their imaginations to make many other things, like suns, flowers, cups with straws, etc. They even made workout dumbells! I decided to buy these for my 3-year-old great-niece, and she loves them! She can easily play with them herself (with supervision), but I have a lot of fun playing with her and creating new things as well. These toys are great for fine motor skills, color recognition and imaginative play. They also keep the children's attention for a long time. The set does have small parts, so be there when children are playing with them, and make sure the kids are 3 or older. All in all - an excellent value!

This was a gift for one of our grandsons, but the whole family - grandma and grandpa included - have had fun with it. It is an excellent activity for children to look at an item as a whole and then find all the individual parts it takes to make a whole. It also can be a very creative tool allowing the child to make new and interesting creations. Even for the younger child, it provides educational play....separating the parts by color or shape, counting how many of each shape there are and which number is greater or lesser.....can occupy a four year old for hours! Good buy.

This is one of the best toys I have found for babies who are crawling but a 2 year old will enjoy it also.

We bought these for our son for his birthday and Christmas. He loves to play with them and the set is big enough for his sister to join in too. A great toy that is durable and fun for a wide age group.

My son is 5 and loves these things. They have them at his school and the kids use their imagination to create all kinds of things. I ordered this set because I thought it would give him a lot of pieces. There is no way this set could satisfy several children, let alone 5-6 as it claims. It is good for one-two children with room to expand with more sets. The tub will hold many more. Overall, great toy - just a little expensive and misleading.

I have a 3 year old boy and 2 year old girl who can play with this for hours. The make animals or robots then play with those together. We have had them for almost a year and take them with us on vacations to keep them occupied @ the hotel while getting ready...instead of the TV. Really need to buy more.
