5.0 out of 5 stars fun educational toy
As someone who grew up with Sesame Street, Legos, K'nex, and Erector, I felt like this was the perfect toy for my 2-year-old niece. Although my she is much more fascinated with anything that has Dora or Spongebob on the label, I find that this Cookie Monster building set is still a great way for us to connect and for me to help teach her vocabulary and how to follow a...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Frustrating Toy
My 3 year old LOVES the Sesame Street characters and for some time, loved this toy. He got all of the characters for Christmas. The only problem is they constantly fall apart. My son will put it together and begin to play with it and an arm will fall off. Then while fixing the arm, a leg will fall off and so on and so on. After a few times of this, my son starts to...

After a few times of this, my son starts to get frustrated and then starts to cry. I could understand the falling apart if he was an unusually rough type of child during play time, but that is not the case.

I emailed K'nex customer service and 3 weeks later haven't heard from them.
I guess Santa wasted his money on these toys this year. Buyers Beware!

Like Legos, only bigger for smaller hands. My 5 year old loves building cookie monster and Mr. Hoopers store. They have loads of fun with it.

I bought this for my 4 year old nephew who has cerebral palsy, because he needs toys like this to help with his fine motor skills. It is wonderful for him, as well as for my own 2 year old son. My 2 year old can build whatever he wants with the blocks, while his older cousin can build the actual designs. I got this on amazon when it was $7.99 at Christmas and it was a STEAL! It comes with more blocks than a standard Duplo set and has lots of cards with plans to build characters, shapes, etc. Great toy.

My grandson selected this item after seeing it somewhere. He was soon to celebrate his 4th BDay and added the item to his wish list. His eyes popped open when he opened the gift box and looked at the toy. He loves it!!

I paid $9.99 for this toy and I it's a great deal for the price. My 4 and 2 years old daughters love it.
Set contains blocks (similar to Lego Duplo, I think) and other, non block parts that are compatible with Kid K'Nex kits. Blocks are compatible with Mega Blocks Mini System. It was great kit for us because we have plenty of Kid K'Nex kits to build all sorts of creatures (lots of fun, by the way) and we also have plenty of Mega Blocks (which are not so good as Lego Duplo, but much cheaper). Now we have a way to integrate all this kits and build huge hybrid constructions, I think it is great for kid's imagination. I am not sure how much fun this toy would be by itself. As many people have mentioned Cookie monster falls apart. His body is too heavy for his legs. Company needs to improve connections here. My girls, however never got upset too much about Cookie Monster being not tough enough, they build all sorts of other things out of spare parts. Blocks that come with the kit are pretty good; they alone might even convince me to buy additional set.
Bottom line: good toy, can be combined with other blocks (like Lego Duplo or Mega Blocks) and Kid K'Nex kits.

The toy looked so cute, but it constantly comes apart. The legs are especially badly designed and the toy keeps on falling over.

Purchased this for Christmas and brought it to my Son and daughter-in-laws in New York. It was a few days after Christmas, so I didn't have to compete with a pile of toys in the room. We opened up the set and I was pleasantly surprised to find how easy it was for Grant to play with. Grant will be three in August and this is one of his first "buildable" toys where you can interchange the pieces for different types of units. It was really helpful to have the two or three sheets of color pictures of end results if you used different pieces in the set. I would reccommend this to anyone for two to five year olds.
