Stops flushing reliably,

We inherited one of these units when we moved into our house 2 years ago. It took us a while to figure out how to flush it (there's a tiny metal touchpad on the side). It worked ok at first, but within the first couple of months it stopped flushing reliably and the only way to fix it is to power-cycle it. Ugh. After about a year and half of this we finally decided to investigate (we're lazy) and found out that the fix is a $1200 replacement circuit board, so now we're replacing it with something more low tech and a little more reliable...
