Smart Design Combines Adult and Child Toilet Seat
With one ring for adults and a separate ring for children, the KOHLER Transitions Toilet Seat lets you do away with the additional child's toilet in your bathroom. It also eliminates the hassle of removing and cleaning a separate child's seat insert and gives your child the confidence to begin using a regular toilet.

Ergonomically Designed for User Comfort
Designed for an elongated toilet, both the adult ring and the child's ring are ergonomically contoured for user comfort. Your child will feel safe and secure on the smaller top ring, and adults sit comfortably on the bottom ring.

Quiet-Close Seat Prevents Slamming and Ensures Safety
Protect your child's fingers and prevent unwanted noise with the KOHLER Transitions Quiet-Close Toilet Seat. A hydraulic slow-closing device ensures a slowly closing adult and child's ring so you won't have to worry about loud noises or your child's safety.

Quick-Release Hinge For Easy Cleaning
For quick cleaning, the KOHLER Transitions Toilet Seat can be removed for easy cleaning of hard-to-reach areas. Simply open the hinge caps to release the seat and pull it forward to remove. When you're finished cleaning the ring, simply snap it back into place and close the caps.

Durable Components and Easy Installation
Constructed of solid polypropylene, the Transitions Toilet Seat is resistant to staining, fading, chipping, and peeling. It installs quickly and easily with the help of a screwdriver.

Very easy to install and clean.

My daughter feels like a big girl now, and no more taking off the little potty seat if an adult wants to use the toilet.

The adult seat tilts too much so it's a little uncomfortable to sit on.

I have a 2 1/2 year old that is being potty trained. We have an elongated toilet in our main floor powder room where she uses the bathroom the most. Two problems with that: 1) our child seat was for standard toilets so it moved around and she never felt comfortable going to the potty by herself. 2) Having to remove and replace the child seat whenever we had guests. We recently installed the Kohler Transition toilet seat and she absolutely loves it. She feels so safe sitting on the child ring that she now wants to use the potty by herself and all the time...even when she doesn't have to go potty. The quiet close feature is an added bonus, because I don't have to worry about the toilet seat slamming down on her fingers when she sets the seat down. Another great thing about the seat is that we don't have to remove the child seat whenever guests come over...they just lift it up to expose the adult ring or lift it up completely. I plan on purchasing another seat for her bathroom upstairs.

We love these seats and have them installed on all 3 of our toilets. Now we don't have to worry about where to store the children's seats or worry about the kids dropping their seats in the toilet. :) The child seat does NOT "poke" an adult when it is up.
Also, love the quiet close and the fact that you can take it off to clean under back where it attaches to the toilet.
Plan on getting these seats for the new house too!

-----------UPDATE---------
Kohler had to replace one of the seats because one of the "latches" that keep them on the toilet broke. They all now have weak "latches" which allows them to move around on the toilet base. We will not be buying these for the new house and no longer recommend them. We'll be looking for a different brand that doesn't use cheap plastic.

I don't write a lot of reviews, but I feel compelled. My toilet seat just showed up. I'm a handy guy so I had it installed in minutes. Literally, anyone with a flathead screwdriver can get this thing installed in no time with the included hardware. My problem with it is that, although it appeared to be new in unopened, original packaging, it wasn't. Yup, I got a used toilet seat (EWWW!), complete with a couple short and curlies. I'm not kidding! There was actual pubic hair on it. It also had a small nick it the front of the seat where the plastic was scratched. I was able to clean it up and make it look okay with just my fingernail. I'm not too sensitive, so I gave it a good cleaning and won't be sending it back. After all, it's fine really, I just wanted to share my experience with you, just in case you're a little more sensitive than me.

Cheers,

I bought 2 of these at Home Depot. After 14 months, one of the covers came off in my hand. Further inspection revealed that the plastic used in the hinge cylinders that govern the closing had virtually disintegrated. That which was not already powder could be rendered into powder with very little effort or pressure. I checked the other seat - one that is used very little - and though it was not in quite the same condition, it was obvious that the plastic component would be there soon. Home Depot took them back & I bought a different seat. Good idea, bad execution.

The seat looks great, and at first we loved it. But little boys are not perfect aimers, and when their pee aims a little too high, it collects under the horizontal plastic section where the seat connects to the toilet. An invisible puddle of pee collects in there, and stays wet due to lack of air circulation, and the only way to clean it out is to remove the toilet seat entirely from the toilet. This is not difficult, but when it has to be done after every pee, it is a royal pain. It is disgusting to remove the toilet seat and find rancid pee that collected there over the course of the day (or days). We've had the seat only one month and are throwing it out - we can't stand the bathroom reaking all the time.

Loved the idea that the seat has with quick release clips for thorough and easy cleaning. I bought two seats - the plastic hinge (quick release clip) covers were broken on both seats. The seats were sent back to the seller who was GREAT about replacing the seats!
Unfortunately, less than one year later the plastic hinge covers were breaking off again and the quick release hinges snap off quite easily without the covers to keep them secure.

I would love this seat IF the parts that held it on to the toilet were made of something other than thin plastic. A thin plastic hinge cannot withstand opening and closing without cracking. Without a cover the plastic clips that hold the seat onto the toilet have no re-inforcement or strength. Not Safe!
Great idea - poorly executed :(

I ordered this seat based on the reviews and the fact that in less than a week of potty training it was obvious my daughter was going to fall off the toilet WITH her potty seat still in hand since the seat did not 'latch' onto our toilet seat (which turns out none of them do =/). I really liked that it made it possible for us all to use the toilet, it had a soft closing to keep little hands safe and it was removable for (inevitable) poopie accidents she'll have in the future.

Here's what the product really solved... or not. Yes, we can all use the toilet and our daughter is no longer teetering on the toilet with her toilet seat in hand. Yes, it's removable and had I known they made removable toilet seats I would've gotten a Kohler a long time ago. No, the soft closing DOES NOT keep little hands safe. I was misled by the product info (or misunderstood it) and thought the LID was the one that had the soft closing on it which is what would make sense if you're trying to keep little hands from getting smashed. What lowers softly are the SEATS which is totally useless. If my child is sitting on the upper seat she could certainly benefit from using a soft closing lid when she goes to lower the lid before flushing... but what difference does it make to my husband and I that HER seat can lower softly (with the lid on it) onto OUR seat? We can lower the seats and the lid without smashing our hands already, DUH!

This whole issue aside, I still like that there is no need for an extra potty seat and that the whole thing removes for cleaning which is why I gave it 3 stars.

I WOULD buy the product again for the features it DOES have but not for the features I was misled into thinking it had prior to ordering.
