Good product, but not made by Kohler and very difficult to install if you are not a plumber. Took my husband and myself to install the drain. It required someone from the top and another person pushing the drain pipe from under the fixture.

The base we have needed this but we did not need to buy a special one since there was a piece covering this. That was the design of the shower floor.
