I bought this to do RAW video recording using Magic Lantern on the Canon 5D Mark III. It doesn't benchmark as high as some of the other 1000x cards, but it handles the RAW video fine. I can record up to 1920x1152 without dropped frames on a May 30th build of Magic Lantern. Aligning the partition on the card did boost the benchmarks a bit, but it didn't translate to being able record any higher resolution video.

For stills, in burst mode, I get about 24 frames before the buffer runs out and the shutter slows down. The Transcend 400x I replaced hit about 14 frames before slowing.

So far no quality issues and the price is fantastic compared to the more recognizable brands.

Ordered 2 separate cards. Both had unrecoverable write errors immediately after formatting in my Canon 5d Mark II. Buy the Lexar.

Bought this card to see if I could use it for shooting raw video on my 5d. Wound up slower than my san disk extreme card. A waste of time and money unfortnately. If you really need the speed and want the low price you should buy at least three to see if you get one that writes at valid speeds. Be aware that you have to pay your own return shipping.

I've only used the card a few times, in fact I was getting ready to reformat it for the first time after unloading all of the files. It initially started giving me errors where I could not read a few RAW files (5D MKIII) when importing to Lightroom. This was concerning. Then upon putting back in the camera it could not recognize or format it. I'm using a Kingston FCR-HS3 USB 3.0 Reader, which is recommended and has been excellent with all other cards.

I really wanted to like this card since it is an affordable alternative to the high priced options. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad memory card, and I use both CF and SD. I have a few each of Transcend, SanDisk, a Duracell, and a Lexar. I even have an old Blue Generic 8GB card that is now about 5 years old. None have given me a single problem. I am an amateur photographer so I don't earn a living at it, but if I did I would be highly skeptical of using a Komputer Bay Card. I will try to get a replacement, but I'm not sure I can trust them now.

Update: Replacement is on it's way after trying to fix it with low level formatting.

I got through half of a day worth of shooting for a big client, when all of sudden this card crashed right in the middle of an interview. I could not get the camera to read it so I had to put it away and proceed to use a different card. Later that night after the shoot I tried to transfer the footage and it kept freezing and or crashing my iMac. I cannot even begin to tell you how frustrating this was. After several hours of trying multiple card recovering tools with zero luck I finally took one last shot in my Windows Bootcamp partition. My friend mentioned that Windows handled messed up cards better the Apple. He was right. I was able to pull the footage off the card onto a USB drive. Very lucky. Very frustrating. I would never trust one of these again. I still am unable to get any use out of it as I have tried reformatting with no luck. Only crashes my op system. $130 down the drain, because I didn't try to use it until a few weeks after purchasing it. By then it was too late to return or exchange.

I loved this off-brand card as I was shooting with it. It was fast and held TONS of shots and video from my Canon 5D Mark III. Unfortunately, as I was offloading the data to my iMac it said it had corrupted data. I unmounted, then tried to mount the card again and it wouldn't even show up.

The Mac Disk Utility only sees it as a 35 MB folder - no mountable drive, and the software packages I bought from the app store don't see it either. Even the camera won't recognize or format it.

As tempting as the price may seem, it ain't worth it. Pro or amateur photogs should stick with what works. And that's not KomputerBay.

I am a professional sports photographer. I decided to give this product a try to see if it was as good as some of the reviews I read and not have to pay so much for this size of card. Well, I found out immediately that I had made a mistake. I formatted the card, as directed before photographing, to my camera. I took 31 photographs in RAW format. I downloaded the photographs to my computer. When trying to view them 17 of them were smeared with colors. The best comparison I can give you is what a watercolor picture looks like when you drop water on it. I tried viewing it in three major programs that I have with the same results. I am doing a major photo shoot in Yellowstone next week and do not trust this card to use it on such an important event. I am going back to my compact flash cards that I have never had a problem with. So in this case, I guess I got what I paid for compared to the leading brands. I contacted Amazon Customer Service in regard to my experience. THEY were excellent! They sent me an e-mail that provided a label to ship the product back to them free of charge and then will reimburse the money I spent for this item into my account. Now that's what I am talking about for customer service. It wasn't their product but they had shipped it and they handled the situation without any frustration to me! That is why I am an Amazon.com fan!!!!
