I went to petsmart to buy some new tough dog toys that would help occupy my young mini dachshund and teacup schnauzer. If they aren't kept busy they run around like maniacs and get into things (toilet paper)! My mini dachshund is great at destroying things and although he likes his normal kong, it's almost too easy for him and he's done within 3-5 minutes. I saw this unique looking toy and loved the multiple slots that would perfectly fit the brand of food I feed them. I snatched this and the bone shaped Kong Quest and when I got home I put half a bone biscuit in the center and dog food in each smaller hole. My dogs went crraaaazzzyy! I watched in amazement as they spent over an hour working on getting food out. This toy has endless potential for different methods of treat questing ;) from raw pumpkin to frozen peanut butter. Definitely worth the $9 ea. I pay that for squeaky toys that my dachshund rips apart in less than 30mins! I would totally recommend this toy for dogs 6-35 pounds. I'm not sure the rubber would hold up well for bigger dogs with powerful jaws but for my 6 and 15 pound dogs they are perrrrrfect!. :)

During her first use of the KONG, my dog seemed to be playing along with it just fine. She disappeared into the other room with it and proceeded to rip apart and eat the entire toy. Didn't have the staying power I've seen from other KONG toys. I give it two stars because one should always be watching their dog when playing with these things but would have expected a bit more durability.

We found this at our local pet store and after talking to an associate we bought it as a game/ toy for feeding our puppy. We feed her Blue Buffalo and for lunch she gets it frozen in this toy. It takes her around 30-45 minutes depending on the day to finish lunch. Make sure if feeding canned food you get the grounded version as the others don't seem to work as well in this toy. We use a paper plate to fill it and freeze on, it takes me a couple minutes to get it filled. I make it the night before to make sure it is completely frozen before I give it to her. Bonus beside slowing her down it helps cool her off as she eats as it gets hot here in Arizona.

My dog loves this. It is a little easier for her to get the treats out, because of the rings on the edge not having a bottom. She flips it a lot and licks and chews, looking for chunks of loosened treats to fall out. However, she is a persistent chewer and if there is any treat left, she will chew and lick for an hour or so. That said, the rings are very flexible and she has already torn a few. I can only tell when refilling it, because the rubber/silicone? goes back into place and tears do not show easily. Now I fill it with easier to get to treats so she doesn't completely destroy it after only a week of use.

My golden retriever puppy is a whirlwind of energy who plows through food like a specially designed, finely tuned machine. I found a couple of items that retard her inhalation of dry food, but canned food was still a problem. I bought this and stuffed a mixture of dry food and canned food in each pocket...et voila, instant "normal-puppy" eating speed.

Putting canned food in is going to be messy to a degree but I did want to at least minimize the mess. I put a can of food in the refrigerator the day before then scooped it out in balls for pod stuffing. I also left the empty pod in the freezer for a bit. I didn't want anything to actually freeze because it would be too much for this particular puppy right now. She's easily frustrated and if something hurts she walks away. Fortunately, everything worked out well. The little demon loved the feel of the soft, cool rubber against her gums, as she's teething and uncomfortable, and I gave it to her on a bare floor surface that I could easily wipe clean when she finished. She stuck with the extraction process (i.e. dinner) for about 40 calm, thorough minutes and my clean-up took about 40 calm, thorough seconds--a pre-Christmas miracle. Although this dispenser can be popped in the dishwasher, I feel more comfortable using a handled dish brush/sponge to make sure all the nooks and crannies get cleaned. I worry less about puppy-super-killer-bug oubreaks (yes, I'm a wee bit of a germaphobe) and it takes no time flat to do.

Be aware that if you just drop small dry treats in the pockets they're only going to fall through the bottom holes and your pup will nose the pod aside and eat off the floor. That's not what the product was designed for. You have to use something large and/or firm so it will stay where you put it until your little buddy pulls it out. When used as intended, this dispenser works very well and is a big hit with my greedy four-legger.

My Golden Retriever loves this toy. I put peanut butter or cheese in the toy and freeze it. She will lick it for an hour getting every last drop of taste out of it. I ordered another one for my Lab. Still waiting for this to arrive but looking forward to letting both of them have this yummy food puzzle to entertain them.

PS. I NEVER LET MY DOGS PLAY WITH ANY FOOD TOY UNSUPERVISED. I ALWAYS CHECK ON THEM AND AS SOON AS THEY ARE FINISHED IT GETS TAKEN UP AND PUT IN THE DOG TOY BASKET. It is human error if the dog eats the toy.

This sucks for large dogs. Aside from my dog just not being interested, I don't even see the point of this. You can't really put treats anywhere without the dog just nosing it away and getting the treats right off the floor. Anything else is better.
