Great for scrubbing the suds in at bath time, too!!

My dog actually leans into the zoom groom as opposed to just standing still and tolerating a good brushing.

Though this product is marketed for doggies, I have been using one in preference to my fingers alone when I shampoo my hair in the shower. It has dozens of pliable, relatively sharp "fingers" which do a much better job of scalp massage. Very refreshing. The fingers on first one of these things I bought gradually wore down flat after many years which is why I bought a replacement. I think that, regardless of color, they all work alike. Your dog should enjoy it too.

I love that this thing is wet or dry brush. However, as a dry brush, I would have to say I have had better luck with the smaller wire brushes. Also, it doesn't hold the hair that well, so make sure that you are not making the noob owner mistake of brushing your dog inside the house.

My dog would probably give this a five star, because it's like a massage every time I pet him...

As far as a wet brush, it's great that I can use it at bath time because this is going to massage his little scalp much more effeciently than my fingers. Also, when done, it dries fairly quickly. I image I could throw it in the dishwasher if I needed to...but I'd prefer to save that area for food dishes only. :)

I have a boxer and this is the only brush that works. Normal brushes simply do nothing on my short-haired boxer. He seems to enjoy it and I always get a considerable amount of hair off of him. Highly recommended.

I bought this on the recommendation of someone at the pet store for my short-haired mutt. It was a fraction of the cost of other grooming tools (like the Furminator), so I had my doubts. However, it exceeded my wildest hopes. The fur just flies off, and my dog loves it! Fortunately, I was warned--so I'll also warn you--go outside to use this tool, and wear old clothes. There is nothing on the Zoom Groom to "catch" the hair, so it pretty much just goes everywhere. Not a problem if you are outside. The Zoom Groom has drastically reduced the amount of dog hair on my floors and furniture, when I use it every other day. Highly recommended for short-haired dogs!

I bought the purple one for cats, but it is the same "brush."

My cat has super soft, fine fur. It gets onto things and is hard to get off. Also, this brush actually works well on clothing and the couches/chairs, etc. IT is slightly tacky. Not sticky, exactly, but it attracts the hair in a clingy way. It's quite brilliant. Glad I made the purchase.

UPDATE: I had originally purchased a Four Paws Ultimate Touch Slicker Wire Brush as well. My cat liked it, so I bought one for my mom. Her dog and 2 of her 4 cats are terrified of the other brush. They run and hide if they see it out. So, I also bought her one of these and all of the animals like that. If you have an animal who tends to be picky, I would go with this brush instead. However, I got one that is flat on the side you hold and it is harder to use than the one I bought my mom, which is curved and fits in the palm better. All of the Kong Zoom Grooms have the same "bristles", so I would recommend going with a curved version.

I worked in a grooming shop as a dog bather for about a year and a half. We always had a couple of these on hand. They are AWESOME for dogs with short hair. If your dog has long hair (like 2 inches or more), it's not going to do you much good. The hair will just pour off of shorter haired dogs though. We use this every shedding season on my cat and my dogs (when they're shaved down). I HIGHLY recommend it.

My mutt has medium-length, straight, slick hair that sheds A LOT. It's a constant battle keeping the pet hair under control in the house (I also have two cats, but the dog hair is the real culprit), so I'm always looking for ways to help. Now that it is summer in hot South Texas, my dog is shedding like crazy. I picked up the Zoom Groom on a whim, because I've always been impressed with Kong products, and this is no different. As soon as you start brushing your dog, the little rubber fingers grab the excess pet hair, and it just starts flying off! It's amazing how much it actually gets off the dog, and it is becoming part of our daily routine. It must feel very good, because he immediately stands or sits still and lets me brush him. After a while, he'll even lay down and just enjoy the massage. The Zoom Groom fits in the palm of your hand, and you can just shake or rinse the excess hair out of it easily when you're done. I can see how it probably wouldn't work on a dog with long or curly hair (like a Golden Retriever or Poodle), but for short hair breeds with that straight, slick hair (Labs, Boxers, etc), it works great. I haven't used it during a shampoo or bath, but I'm sure it would really help.
