5.0 out of 5 stars The best small zoom camera you can buy
I just got back from a 1 year trip around the world. Instead of bringing my heavy and bulky Canon camera and lenses, I used this small camera instead. It only weighs about a half a pound, and its the size of a pack of cigarettes. Sometimes I even had to put my hand in my pocket to make sure it was still there. It was so light, I kept thinking it had fallen out of my...

1.0 out of 5 stars Nice camera with major reliability problem
I thought this was a great camera--at least for the casual point and shoot user--for the first year or so. But over time it became more and more difficult to turn it (which happens when the cover is opened). It now won't work at all, and after some web searching I've found that I'm not the only one to experience this. Too bad because it's otherwise a very nice,...

It was so light, I kept thinking it had fallen out of my pocket.

I have enlarged many of my photos to 8 x 10, and its very difficult to tell the difference between photos taken with this camera, and photos taken with my expensive Canon camera. There is slight distortion in the corners, but it is only noticable if a person happens to be in the corner of the photo, because his head will look slightly slanted. But most people looking at your photos won't even notice. (I'm much more picky than most people.) And you won't notice the distortion at all in landscape photos.

This is one of the few cameras with a zoom lense that starts at 28mm. 28mm is great for taking wide angle shots. Most zoom cameras start at 35mm or 38mm, which makes it difficult to take good wide angle photos. And even though the lense on this Konica maxes out at 70mm, I rarely found that to be much of a problem.

Another plus is that the lense is F3.4 - 7.9 which is a heck of a lot better than any other small zoom camera. Compare it to the other popular zoom cameras, like Olympus, which go up to F9 or F11, which is horrible in low light.

Konica is really bad at marketing, so most people don't realize just how awesome this camera is. But I've taken over 1000 photos with this camera, and it has never let me down.
