Product Description

KOR Delta's functional, state-of-the-art design makes it easy to take water on-the-go

The KOR Delta water bottle is a stylish, convenient reusable water bottle that makes sustainable hydration simple and delightful. Its exclusive threadless spout design is smooth on your lips so you don’t feel like you’re drinking from a water hose. Plus, it’s large enough to enjoy a strong flow of water and drop in pieces of ice, yet small enough to minimize splashing. With its one-handed, push-button operation, your water bottle flips open, then stays out of your way while you drink, making it an ideal companion for the road, workouts or traveling. Not only does the shape of the handle resemble the Greek symbol for change, it represents your journey to impact whatever you may be aiming to change in your life, including your hydration habits for the better.

I have been an avid outdoors enthusiast for well over 25 years so I have had my fair share of water bottles. Sigg, Nalgene, Camelbak, Kleen Kanteen, REI, Eddie Bauer Etc.. I have had bottles from all of them. In fact, I dont think there is a design or a company out there that I haven't tried. With that being said, I ran across a KOR ONE bottle a few years back and was immediately impressed by the design. I was actually looking to buy a new bottle anyways so I figured I would try the KOR ONE. I haven't touched another water bottle since then...well, that is until I tried KOR's new Delta Bottle.

As soon as I saw that KOR had a new bottle I immediately ordered one. Going off of their previous bottle, I was expecting a lot and I wasn't disappointed in the least. The biggest difference between the KOR ONE and the KOR Delta lies in the design of the lid. It now has a safety latch which makes accidental openings impossible. I was actually one of the unfortunate people that had a KOR ONE open up in one of my bags. Fortunately it was just a bunch of magazines that got wet but I never felt safe enough to just throw my Kor One inside my bag like I used to. Well, no more worrying as this new safety latch takes care of that problem. This one upgrade alone made the purchase worth it. Also new is the fact that you can separate the cap from the bottle with a simple twist. This makes cleaning your bottle significantly easier. The most obvious change is with the shape of the handle. Its angled now which make it more ergonomic and more comfortable to carry. In short, all of the changes with the lid make the Delta a significant improvement over the KOR ONE and that is really saying something as the KOR ONE was easily the best designed water bottle I have ever used.

I bought my first KOR Delta bottle about 3 months ago after breaking the mouthpiece device on my 750mL Camelbak bottle and having subsequent issues with water leaking out of the top. I really enjoyed my new orchid KOR Delta bottle for the week that I had it. Some of the pros:

--The lid is great because it stays in place when opened at any angle, so no need to hold the lid back like you need to do with some other bottles;
--I really enjoyed the ability to open and close the bottle with just one hand. Great for driving or taking a sip while carrying something in your other hand;
--The lid has a lock that can be pushed down to avoid any spills or leaks so you don't have to worry about stashing it in your bag or purse;
--The shape of the mouth opening is well designed. I used to spill water frequently when drinking from my old large Nalgene, and my Camelbak took some getting used to in terms of the reduced water flow through the rubbery mouthpiece (along with the appearance of looking like a baby sucking on a bottle); and
--The handle on the top fits your hand perfectly and makes this bottle incredibly easy to tote around with you.

What are the cons then? Well, as I mentioned above, I only had the first KOR Delta bottle for 1 week. On my way to catch the train to NY for the weekend, I slid the bottle into the side pocket on my backpack and even tightened the cord on my pack to keep it in place. Put the backpack on, reached down to pick up my duffle bag, and the bottle slid out of the side pocket and fell less than 3 feet to the tiled floor. The lid shattered into 4 pieces, and the lid release and lock device broke off of the lid as well. While the body of the water bottle was not damaged, the lid was destroyed.

I bought one of these for myself and one for my wife because every other bottle I had tried up until this point has ended in disappointment. It is truly astonishing to see how many companies try so hard to engineer something that should require very little engineering and still fall so short. This bottle has some nice features but also some pretty sensless ones that left me stracthing my head.

The Good:

Asthetics. Although this is pretty darn low on my list of things I look for in a decent water containing, Kor apparently felt that this was important above all else. I have the black one and my wife has the blue one. They are both very nice looking bottles and for whatever reason, just looking at them makes me want to drink from them.

Ergonomics. The diameter and rounded edge of the drinking opening is great. Water just flows easily from it and I can't really put it into words. It seems like a small detail but I think it's the bottle's best feature. The handle also makes this effortless and comfortable to carry for extended periods of time. Unfortunately this is where the good seems to end with this bottle.

The Bad:

Durability. What is up with plastic bottles? Granted, I knew that it was plastic when I bought it, I had hoped that given the price it would be of a higher durability. My wife is prone to dropping and breaking expensive things; iphones, glasses, etc, so I had hope that it could withstand at least a minor drop. Not two days after she bought it, she dropped it and the white part of the blue bottle cracked all the way through. I have read the other reviews about the hinge mechanism breaking and I can definitely understand how it would.

Pointless features.
