Customer Reviews

He has lego as well but it seems like he likes KRE-o better.

Although there are many small pieces and he needed a lot of help putting it together, he really enjoys playing with it.

The app is very fun to play and really keeps the kids entertained.

I received this set from BzzAgent for my children to play with and review. Out of the box, the Kreo Cityville Invasion Marina Madness set looked like your standard building set. The minifigures are simple to assemble. Instructions are straightforward. Blocks....that's another story. My son (7yrs) has no trouble putting together Lego sets that have 10+ age guidelines (he's been doing those since he was 5), but this set was just plain hard to assemble. The blocks were hard to snap together. I even had trouble helping him assemble a few of the items. And while they were hard to snap together, once snapped, the whole construction fell apart at a simple bump on several occasions. After spending almost two hours putting together a seemingly small and simple set, my kids were done with it for several days and weren't even interested in checking out the app associated with it. This is a set they probably will have little interest in ever playing with again because of how often they have to rebuild it. Save your money and buy some Legos.

We've now purchased a few of the CityVille Invasion sets. Not a huge fan of the zombie theme, but the kits are very nice. Extreme high quality parts and work without issues with the other leading brand (LEGO, just as they say). The price of these kits are awesome compared to LEGO as well. They come with nice big base plates and a lot of cool custom parts not available with other brands. The CityVille Invasion series of mini figures are kind of lame, with the torso and legs being tiny. But, the heads and hair/hats are fully compatible with LEGO mini figures and some of them look even nicer than the classic round yellow "ball" with a face stamped on it.

Being the owner of hundreds of dollars worth of LEGO bricks, I am extremely pleased with the quality, fit, and creativity of the KRE-O brand of building blocks. The whole vibrating box and moving parts is totally new to me and really cool!

My 7-year-old liked assembling and now playing with it. It has lots of pieces to move around. The motion part of it does make the pieces move if you get them on just the right spot. Play around with it to figure out how to get it to move. It also makes sounds. Both these give it a neat kick compared to other sets. Problem is that we haven't figured out how to turn it off. It must just time out. It is not Lego brand, but the pieces are staying together well.

We don't usually like building sets that are not lego name brand. The quality usually just doesn't compare. So I was very surprised and pleased with this Kreo set. The bricks go together easily yet hold tight so your build doesn't fall apart. But the coolest part of this set is the motion & sound aspect. It comes with a large brick that emits ocean sounds and vibrates. This combined with the special base on the figures allows them to move across the play scene on their own. My 8 yr old absolutely loves this set. And it is compatible with the legos brand.

I got this set on deep discount at the Target January clearance - so deep a discount, that given my 4.5 yr old son has been on a huge lego streak lately, I figured, why not - even if it's awful, it'll be ok. Well - I wouldn't mind paying full price for these - they are, all in all, pretty good!

Pros - My son seems to really like the sonic movement, and thinks this set is 'funny' - 'funnier than everything' (meaning funnier than the lego sets :)
My son was able to build this mostly on his own, just as much as he can build the city 6+ legos on his own - not so much with mega bloks, for example. (basically, the instructions are exactly the same as legos, only difference is that when you only need one piece of something it says nothing, instead of actually saying 1X like legos does - he instantly pointed this out to me, but it was not an issue as he quickly figured out that nothing meant one)
The pieces all fit perfectly (I was VERY worried about this, because the transformers from Kre-O (that I had also bought on deep discount, thankfully) absolutely DID NOT fit, and it was impossible to build anything). He only really needed me to snap the parts that hook onto other pieces - and they were, admittedly, quite tight.
It's different and cool - I agree with my son - it's pretty neat!
price! - even without the deep discount, the price is not bad for what you get.

Cons- what's up with the tiny people???? You can do more with less pieces at this scale, I get that, but still.... and the accessories on the guy that is diving, for example, are hard to keep on because any time you grab the tiny little guy, you snap off the headgear!

My Grandson loves the Kre-O and he is busy a lot of times playing with it. I think it is a great toy for kids. It keeps their mind going. Which is great.

Thank-you

First off a disclaimer I did get this product through BzzAgent to review and I'm posting my kids feedback and my personal opinion on this toy set.

Assembly wasn't too hard. Some of the pieces are a bit small and depending on your childs age may or may not need some assistance.

If your child likes legos chances are they will probably love this even more. It's sonic motion technology provides more than what legos does. Also the app to go along with it is a nice distraction as well for when you're out.

I've already purchased another 2 sets for birthdays and Christmas coming up and kiddo keeps adding more to his growing christmas list and half of it is more kits, haha.

I can't say whether your kids would have the same reaction as mine towards this set of toys but they do enjoy it and I personally feel it's worth it.
