This setup will change your life. Incredible sounds. And they bump like nothing me (or my friends) have ever heard. Only warning: they're rather large

First I must say I am not an audio engineer. I do produce hip hop music, and I listen to a slew of music in general when sampling, but I can't sit here and say these are better then those because these are the only studio monitors I've ever owned. I would seek out local audio equipment stores and test speakers before making a purchase because $800 is a significant chunk of cash to spend on monitors regardless if your a pro, a beginner, or someone just wanting an amazing 2.1 desktop set up.

With that said these things are pretty damn good. I've read a ton of KRK reviews and they are overly positive which is one reason I chose this set up. As a hip hop head and amateur producer I want my mastered productions coming out as clean and crisp as possible. I can't afford to buy a cheap set of monitors only to upgrade again in the future I just wanted to make one big purchase and be happy with it, and I am.

On top of being an amateur hip hop producer I use these for regular PC use and Battlefield 3 for gaming and the battlefield never sound so damn impressive. To balance the set up I have the Subwoofer volume as low as possible as well as the low pass frequency as low as possible. The RP8's are at 0DB and I have the volume on 8 . I got this balance by playing nothing but flac quality music files, and cd's. The albums I've used were Dr. Dre's Chronic/2001, Nas' Illmatic/It Was Written, AZ's Do Or Die/Pieces Of Man, Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt, Alchemists 1st Infantry/Russian Roulette, The Firm's album, Cormega's Legal Hustle, CNN's The War Report, Raekwon's Purple Tape, 2Pac's Me Against The World, Mobb Deep's The Infamous/Hell On Earth, the new Wu-Block album and many other classics I listen to on the regular.

I received just the 8s when I ordered this package set. Apparently sonic forgot to send the sub with it. I had to wait an extra week and a half to get the sub. I finally got my sub and was able to hook up everything. The speaker stands that came as part of this package are cheap. Missing foam on one of the stands. I called sonic sense but never got anything from them even though I spoke to Keegan 4 times about all the mishaps with shipping. I have to say though that the sound is pretty amazing and clean...bass is crisp and punchy. I'm pleased with them.
