Customer Reviews

This product worked extremely well.

Hose the window down once, then turn the bottle's lever to wash mode and spray suds on, let suds sit 20 seconds and rinse again with water.
OLT
If you use this product, you will have decently clean windows and screens, but it is no substitute for hand cleaning.

I finally dragged out the hose this morning to clean a window with this cleaner. It has been a hot valley summer in California, so I had been putting off doing this since it had to be done so early in the morning to insure the windows were in no way warm. No sunlight was hitting the windows at all.

1) I shook up the bottle, re-read the instructions in about 6 seconds, attached it to the hose and chose my large kitchen window to test it out on. I wet it down and rinsed off all the big grime from the glass and frame.

2) I then flipped the dial to ON and soaped it up really good, it is not a thick foam but more like super soapy water but you can easily see where you have sprayed the cleaner.

3) I turned it off and was excited to see that the hose seal worked great and I did not get any spray back on me from where the hose and bottle meet -- a great seal on the coupler. I counted to 20 as noted on the bottle as it soaked into the rest of the grime.

4) I rinsed it all off and was excited to see that 95% of the grime was gone and the soap had a sheeting action that slid off the glass. There were a few speckles left that I could barely see.

I was left with WAY cleaner windows than I anticipated based on some of the bad reviews. I think it is important to use this on cold windows that are not being hit with sunlight. I would buy this again to get the gunk off my windows, but would look at it as a time saving step to get them all pristinely clean with a squeegee afterwards. It would save me water in the long run since I would be spraying less water getting them to the squeegee state.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
As we all are busy people, this product sounded convenient. Really the toughest part was dragging around the garden hose. The 32 ounce bottle cleaned 13 "average" size windows and four small upper story windows. I followed the directions, turning my water nozzle to full strength, twisted the setting from "off" to "rinse" and soaked the first set of windows, then turned the nozzle to "clean", then back to "rinse" spraying from top to bottom and then used a squeegee to remove water as instructed for those of us with hard water.

It did a decent job. The first window I cleaned ended up with a filmy residue. Think I should have shaken the bottle before use? Maybe the window was still warm from the setting sun although I did wait until the windows were in the shade? My windows were left with some dirty spots, some streaking, etc. so I did have to go behind and get out my ladder to clean some areas by hand using:

½ cup distilled white vinegar
1 pint rubbing alcohol
1 t. liquid dishwashing detergent

Put ingredients in a gallon container and add water to fill. Use a funnel to move ingredients into a trigger sprayer for convenience. I have used this same mixture for cleaning all my outdoor windows. I simply placed ingredients in a bucket, dipping squeegee/with scrubber into bucket, using some good old elbow grease to scrub and then used the rubber squeegee to remove product. Definitely does a better job but it required continual movement of the ladder and dealing with shrubbery. Much more time, effort, and sweat equity. So if you are not a fussy person about "clean" and just want to clean the worst of it and will not bemoan the occasional streak or dirt that should have come off, this is a fast, easy product and you can move on to other chores feeling good about yourself.

I tried this product because I have security iron bars and it is hard to get them clean. I was disappointed. It only took the loose dust but the glass still looked pretty dirty. I had the same result using just water.

Didn't really clean all that well. The water stream for rinse is very strong. I reduced the water pressure because it was so strong.
My windows were very dirty, but I still would have expected it to clean better. Residue was left on the windows. I subsequently cleaned the windows with water and dishsoap. It did a better job. I also used this product with a squeegee - which helped. The water in this area is very hard so that may have had something to do with the poor performance.

My husband used this product to clean all of our house windows, and they were clean with NO streaks left behind. Two days later it rained and I thought for sure that the windows would be a mess, but they weren't marked by the rain. The windows are still clean and streak free.

This will get your windows half clean. I still used a mop to try to scrub some of the water marks, dust and dirt. It is better than nothing but doesn't come close to what someone can do on a ladder with cleaning cloths.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I've used other Window Washer products like Krud Kutter before, and this did a very serviceable job as compared to some others. That said, while it was good at basic cleaning and in leaving windows streak free, there were some trouble spots (bird crap) on my windows that I thought the Krud Kutter should have been able to help strip away, that it couldn't quite manage.

So, for getting rid of typical dust and grime, it's fine, but if you have some troublesome bird deposits, it's not going to to the job on its own. Not terribly surprised by that, but I was hoping for more.
