FORM: Snazzy, sleek, modern, industrial-style. Surprisingly, the beautiful brushed stainless steel is not a magnet for fingerprints.

FUNCTION: Quick and efficient.

OF NOTE: Perhaps a negative to some, this kettle is on the heavy side (the upside of which is its sturdiness).

For optimal use of the removable filter when filling the kettle and subsequently pouring the boiled water, Krups instructs the user to fill directly into the spout. I prefer to fill through the wider opening in the top of the kettle because there is less spillage. Since I use filtered water to begin with, this is not an issue to me.

We purchased this kettle to replace two failed Capresso programmable kettles (the lids fell off both among other faults). It was immediately apparent that this product is well made and the first impressions have proved to be correct. The kettle boils water fast and switches off very quickly once it boils. It also looks good so what more could one ask for?
No negative points yet and dont expect any as this is a real quality product.

update It is now April 2012. The kettle has been used 3 to 4 times a day every day since we had it. Still proving to be a great product

I like this product very much. The only drawback I've noticed is a big noise when it comes to the boiling point.
Other then that it's on of the best on the market. Practically no smell, no plastic parts inside.

Excellent electric kettle. It heats water so fast, that I preheat water in it if I'm making soup, Jello, etc. before putting the water in a pot on my Wolf gas stove (because the kettle is faster).

Features I like: cordless (only the base is plugged in), stainless steel interior (plastic leaches questionable materials in your water, especially hot water), the hidden heating element (no exposed coils inside), well constructed (there is nothing cheaply made, all quality), looks modern and sleek, spout doesn't drip, can pour or drizzle the hot water if you leave the spout cover shut, it is a nice size (holds 57 oz max), it shuts off automatically when the water comes to a boil.

I cannot think of anything negative about this kettle, it is a excellent product.

Everyone has his or her own preferences, but this is the best electric kettle I have ever had, and one of the best purchases I have ever made in both appliances and kitchen products. KRUPS does an amazing job on this kettle and the Krups FDD912 Expert Waffle Maker with Rotary System (which you can't get anymore) because you feel as though they will last forever. I think that they are solidly engineered to last a very long time. The kettle is fast, the water windows are in both ounces and cups, you can see the water boil if you want tea, and you can stop it before it rolls if you want instant coffee.

Some have noted that it doesn't have a turn off alarm, which I would find annoying, as I use this when I want immediate gratification, so I am around to hear the click. I also can't say whether it's too loud because that never occurred to me. I live in a loft, so I hear everything that goes on, but it's not as loud as the microwave door opening and it seems softer than the microwave itself running. It's not louder than the Chef's Choice I had before, which only lasted 3 years. It's certainly a lot less loud than an actual tea kettle on the stove and it's a whole lot faster. It makes clean up the only thing challenging about using the french press. Another thing to consider is that it's also heavy enough that you have to look at the window to make sure there is water in it before you turn it on.

In a time when we are conditioned to expect to have to replace things every few years, buying this was a refreshing experience.

I used to have a Aroma AWK-115S Hot H20 X-Press 1-1/2-Liter Cordless Water Kettle, and this one is so much better. I love the stainless steel coating of it - it really looks neat in my kitchen. And this is some real sturdy material - I can clean it and it doesn't leave marks or scratches like I've gotten in other cheap stainless steel or chrome products. Engineering-wise, it heats up fast and scale does not seem to build up inside. The water tastes great. BEST ELECTRIC KETTLE OUT THERE!

I read many many reviews before deciding in this Krups electric kettle. This kettle works great with no overheating of base or cord as described in other brand product reviews. It fits well on the counterspace and holds plenty of water for the day. This Krups replaces another Krups kettle I had for almost 10 years. Easy to fill. I have had no issues with the pour filter dislodging with pouring. 100% pleased with the quality and safety of this unit.

I read through almost all the reviews for other stainless steel kettles before I decided on this one. I know Krups usually makes solid appliances, and they did it again with this one. I LOVE this kettle. It's solidly made. Feels good in your hand. It heats up super fast and pours easily. I am so glad I spent the extra $$ to buy this one - it's worth it! You get what you pay for, and I'm glad I paid for this one.
