I picked up one of these to try out(not from Amazon due to it being out of stock when I tried to order it). I was impressed with the performance it delivered in such a small package. Low light performance was pretty good in my initial testing. Works well for outdoor light levels also. The window of useable ambient light levels is a little less than a medium quality box camera which is not surprising given how much cheaper this is than a box camera. Using it inside, I found that light fixtures generally exceeded the sensitivity of this camera giving you a glowing spot with little detail... but this was not a big deal just an observation. The focus range is pretty good.... things within a foot of the lens are well within focus including anything farther than that. It does seem to run a little hot which is a concern for longevity. I think it would be wise to add a heat sink to the metal housing to try and keep it cool. Inside it does not appear to have much of a heat sink design to get the heat away from the IC's and photo IC. The 2 screws holding the back plate on DO press against copper on the PCB so I imagine some heat is transferred from the PCB ground plane to the back and front plate, although I'd like to see better. It is rated for use up to 50 degrees C according to the insert in the box. It comes with a short interface cable that brings out a 2.1mm power receptacle & a female BNC connector.
It also works well with an 850nm IR light.
