We have had a Blendtec for several years and love it. It is expensive but we save hundreds of dollars making our own smoothies on hot summer days. There may be other blenders that can make a good smoothie but this is the first one the we have found (we have tried a half dozen others and spent hundreds of $$ before we found the Blendtec). We liked this blender so much that we bought one for each of our kids.
