This stuff is worth the wait. I googled how to get adhesive off of a glue down floor. That old black glue that is like tar... well this is the stuff. Home depot and/or lowes may have the regular krud kutter, but this is different. Made for removing adhesive. Works on other stuff, too, but crazy easy to remove 30 year old glue. And the stuff is environmentally friendly and doesn't stick to high heaven. Smells kinda nice and won't burn your hands off. Truly miraculous stuff. I don't take the time to rate stuff, but I had to give props to this product.

This does not work on the old tar like black mastic, which I heard might contain asbestos(so don't try to grind it up). Just got in some bean-e-doo, works great for this. Just sorry I bought 2 gallons of the Krud Kutter first. May work for other applications, but didn't even slightly work for this!!

Project: black outdoor carpet on front cement porch.

I pulled it up and found the despised mastic glue. I started with a small orbital sander and 40 grit sandpaper (make sure you wear an Osha mask for dust, $5 at HDepot). I thought this was working until I poured on Krud Kutter adhesive remover (after reading a review on Amazon.com) and the buffed gray surface turned black... I figured I was dealing with Lots of black mastic glue.... I then tried lacquer thinner on a small spot and that didn't help either... OMGoodness, the fumes - not worth the health risks either! The Krud Kutter really didn't do much, so I went back to the internet and learned about Bean-e-doo mastic remover which is a "green" product. Now, I still thought that I was dealing with black mastic glue at this point so after watching the YouTube video about Bean-e-doo I thought the product was going to turn my glue into old engine oil right off the bat... After applying the Bean-e-doo (around 7pm) this is when I learned that it wasn't black mastic glue, but more likely the black I was seeing was vinyl from the back of the very old carpet.. While working at the surface with a broom, the black started giving way to tan and I realized that I am dealing with the worse mastic of all: the dreaded tan mastic - ugh. I left the Bean-e-doo on overnight and this morning (12 hours later) I found the mastic to be more pliable, but I still needed to really muscle it with my broom to get it to budge (the razor scraper didn't do a thing, but a wire brush is helpful), but it is working and I recommend this product, along with patience. I also boiled a pot of water and poured it on the steps - this really works! I still have my work cut out for me tonight and into the weekend, but I am well on my way to getting all the glue off... Hope this helps someone. :)

After removing a glued down carpet and scraping most of the residue left behind there was a thin coating of glue left behind in spots.
After applying Krud Kutter as directed I was amazed that it did absolutely nothing. As an experiment I tried it on the adhesive from a piece of scotch tape again nothing. what an incredible waste of time and money.

Doesn`t even work on duct tape adhesive. You might as well be spraying tap water. Do Not Buy!!!! It did not soften the adhesive at all. If it doesn`t work for something as simple as this it is hard to imagine that it will work on any type of adhesive.

I removed some 8x8 vinyl tiles in a relative's home. The tiles came off very easily, but what remained was a very thin layer of black adhesive. I tried using a heat gun and scraper, that just made the adhesive very sticky and it would not scrape off. I ordered this product and gave it a try. Instructions state wait and let it soak for 15-30 minutes It did NOT work for me. I tried scraping after 15 minutes, after 30 minutes, and after 45 minutes of soaking. It did not help in removing whatever the black adhesive is.

Better than nothing, but still requires a lot of work. No strong oders though and this is the reason I bought it.
