I'm not sure what the other reviewers were expecting for an $11.00 knife, but for the money it's a great little tool. I haven't had an issue with edge retention or sharpening. The sheath is pretty cheap plastic, but again, it was $11.00.... My only complaint is that the edges of the handle are still a bit rough, and need either filed down or wrapped with cord to make it comfortable. Overall though, this lightweight, tough little number is well worth what I paid for it.

For the price of this knife, it is unbeatable in all fields. It is comfortable to hold as long as your hand isn't too large, sharp from the packaging, has great jimping, and is overall a great, fun knife to have. The blade length is fairly small, as is the rest of the knife, but I don't mind it and it has a great belly on it for controlled slicing. The only qualm I have with the knife is that it doesn't hold and edge well; that coupled with the sheath that dulls the knife a little every time you pull it out means that you'll have to be sharpening this knife a lot. The only thing I would suggest when/if you buy this knife, either buy or make another sheath for it.

I bought this knife as a fathers day gift. The packaging is okay would have preferred it come in a little box. The factory edge wasn't all that great but it would work if you didn't know how to sharpen a knife. I took it out of the package and was able to put a shaving sharp edge on it. The Sheath was very tight at first but has loosened up, but the retention is still good. Since i took it out of the package i need a new one and didn't want to use a gift bag or box so i made one. As for the size it's about 1/3% over all smaller than a Ka-bar BK11 necker. Overall pretty decent knife for the price. Pictures in the gallery.

I bought this knife for ~$4 - Sold by and fulfilled by Amazon.com.
CONS: * Knife does not "snap" in, as it should - On the package, it says to push the blade in, until you hear a "click." I had to file down the sheath to get the blade in, as the place which secures the blade was too tight. * Knife moves up/down in the sheath * Hard to pull the knife out of the sheath * Knife came dull - Had to sharpen it for a long time

PROS
* Functional jimping on the blade base and near the tip * Looks cool * Good steel, for the price * Functional blade shape - Has enough "belly."
OVERALL, a good knife, yet a product diminished by a terrible sheath.

I bought this as a piggyback, and it makes a good one.
Sure, better steel would have made is much better! But, it would have cost more.
As it is, it will serve it's purpose well, and in an inexpensive manner.

I have many Kabars, and have full faith in their products.

I wrote a review on the Johnson Adventurer (I like the knife for under $10) so i won't bother again but, for anyone who is wondering, the TSM Piggyback, is exactly the same as the "Johnson Adventure Piggyback". Also, in the picture it appears it may be a "coated" knife, but it is naked stainless steel. No idea why KBAR is selling the same, exact knife under different names, but that's pretty lame if you ask me. I would by this one (TSM) over the Johnson Adventurer simply because on this one, KBAR actually put their name on the knife whereas on the other one, for some reason they did not even though in the picture, it shows it on there (I have both knives and i assure, it's not). Actually I suppose I would just buy whichever one is cheaper - I am not a logo guy but I am looking at retailing these as part of a package so I wanted the KBAR tag in there.

The knife actually good and the "cheap" sheath pretty good. The edge wasnt sharp on the handles, and the blade was actually sharp. I did a paper test. The only thing was that the handle was small and I have Asian hands. SE asian to be exact. It should be fine after i wrap it in paracord.

edit 4/24/13
i still enjoy the knife the cheap sheath got better with use it's a lot smoother now. the grip is great now that it's wrapped in para cord and edge holds pretty decent it's not made to bushwhack so a super hard steel is absolutely desirable this is knife i plan on using for slicing or cutting not utility so a milder steel is easier to sharpen.
