According to the latest medical research, (really), zombie are in a constant state of Rage. This is due to the destruction of their frontal lobes.( virus, meteors, evil gov. research) All that is left is the reptilian brain at the base of the cortex. Now a 7 in blade simply won't reach that far unless you are attaching from the rear, which is pretty hard to do. Think "Night of the Living Dead", Sooooooooo The Pestilence chopper seems the ticket, one wack and the whole shabangs comes off, clean, neat, no fuss. I second all the good comments of the other reviewer, quality great, thick blade, lots of stuff for the $, useless, check. One guy said no adult should need this. That, according to my wife, describes everything in my man cave. Hey, who needs vettes, 44 mags, Aks etc. etc. i'm buying them just for the cool names. Whoever came up with this idea at KaBar needs a bonus. Buy em all! Quality is pure KaBar

Where to start. This is an EXCELLENT knife for the price. I own a bunch of Ka-Bar blades of various sizes and shapes. And this beauty is an awesome addition. It is built by Ka-Bar standers. Strong metal, very sharp, excellent form and balance to make a perfect tool. A must have for the outdoors-man in you.

This product was purchased as a gift,
I'll admit, as a collector of (useful) blades I purchased this for the sole purpose of "looking cool" and being humorous.
Wow. I was pleasantly surprised when this knife proved to be as functional as it does look cool.
However, for the sake of argument, it would be nice to have a combat tanto edge that does not have such large serrations
(think of the age old wisdom from All quiet on the western front, if i stab into someone's head, it'll get stuck)
as for the logs that have been battoned and the general knife uses, it excels, i was rather tempted to keep the blade for myself!
One final point, the sheath.
It is semi functional and ultimately does cover the knife (and thus fulfills one of the only responsibilities of a sheath) but, it feels as if i need to build my load out around the sheath, i was half expecting it to have shoulder straps due to its size and extra compartments.
An alternative, "minimalist" sheath would be a welcome accessory

This is by far the coolest item I have paid less than 50 bucks for in a long time. Based on looks alone I have given 5 stars. I took this on short hike and it cut through small branches with ease. I was also surprised that it works quite well with a no flip throwing technique.

This is one of my favorite knives and a great value for the money. I love the zombie marketing, the biohazard inspired insignia, the SK5 steel, the solidity, and the shape. I ditched the green handle and went for the black. The handle isn't grippy enough... I'll paracord it or something. Once I get the grip figured out, it will be perfect for the zombiegeddon!

This knife feels great gripped anyway you can think. I got a nice surprise when I found a smaller knife included in this deal as well. Both knives fit into the cool holster which also has a storage pouch. This knife just feels solid.

Look......I know it'll never happen. Doesn't change the fact that every man has a plan of action for a Zombie apocalypse. The smart bastards at Ka-Bar knew this and created their ZK (Zombie Killer) series. This knife is big, heavy, thick, sharp, and most of all......cool as hell! I've read through other reviews, and maybe you can buy a better knife for 45 bucks, but I DON'T CARE!!!! It's so insanely cool that this thing was marketed and made for the horror/zombie freaks! Knife freaks can go find their value elsewhere. I love these things! Famine was my first, War second, and in terms of function it won't leave you in a lurch. This thing looks like it could cause serious damage if applied correctly. How does it work in real world function??? Not sure yet, but can't wait to find out! :o)

Big hefty knife with sturdy construction.
Secondary Ka-Bar Acheron utility knife.
Sheath with Molle loops, pull tie pocket, concealed secondary sheath for acheron, and matching green para-cord.
Extra black grips (If you're into the whole normalizing thing) with extra grip screws.
Beautiful packaging.

So it's silly to create a knife for killing Zombies or an impending apocalypse. We all know that. Give this to any man who cares for the zombie genre.......and he'll giggle like a anime chick! In my humble opinion, you're getting your money's worth and then some!

Very nice well made knife . Its made of strong steel. But if you get any bit of heavy use of it. The black coating comes off pretty easy. Its a novelty not for heavy use.
